It’s been a while since I’ve written a Tuesday review and in an attempt to revive this weekly post, I’m going to start off with this; During the past few days, I’m not really sure why, I’ve been on a Clint Eastwood western kick. As you’re well aware, Clint Eastwood has made a whole bunch of westerns, some of them are considered film classics. So far, in this round of movie watching, I’ve sat down an viewed High Plains Drifter, Joe Kidd, Two Mules for Sister Sara, and Pale Rider …

A couple of weeks ago, I found this 100 pack of old science fiction movies, B-movies ranging from the 1940s to the 90s. I picked it up and looked at the back seeing what movies this DVD pack had to offer guessing that some of the movies that I’ve seen were on it, however, as it turns out every single movie in the pack I’ve never seen before. ;I considered putting it down but the price tag of $14 bucks was to awesome to pass up, so I …

The last several weeks have been filled with Ghostbusters talk - lots of talk about the newly released video game, a lot of talk about Ghostbusters 3 which is currently in script phase and the release of Ghostbusters on Blu-Ray. All of the talk and exposure to the classic franchise, I had to go back and watch the first Ghostbusters film to relive some of the excitement especially with the possibility of a new film. During the last several weeks, I’ve been looking for new science fiction films that I’ve never seen before. As a huge scifi fan, I wanted to find a different kind of scifi film instead of the usual space opera’s, television dramas, etc. When looking back as some of my more favorite SF films, I think of films like Blade Runner and Logan’s Run - futuristic action thrillers. In this weekly feature, Star Trek Generations will be the last film that I discuss before the premiere of the new Star Trek film this Friday. The reason being that this is the last film is because it’s the last film that features the legendary Starfleet …

Star Trek: The Undiscovered Country is sadly the last film in the Star Trek franchise to have the whole original crew of the starship Enterprise together before Paramount moved on with The Next Generation cast in films. Because of the critical and financial disappointment of Star Trek: The Final Frontier, the sixth film in the franchise was uncertain but the 25th anniversary was on the way and Paramount wanted to have something to celebrate. Early production on a sixth film began with Paramount looking for a new story …

Last week I was a little behind considering a new member of the family came along so I wasn’t able to give my quick thoughts on Star Trek: The Voyage Home, so today I’ll just double up with this and the fifth film in the franchise. Anyhow, only less then three weeks left until the premiere of the new film directed by JJ Abrams!!
Star Trek: The Voyage Home is my personal favorite of the film franchise although I’ll admit it’s probably not as good as The Wrath of Khan. …

Star Trek The Voyage Home is considered to be the most successful movie in the Star Trek franchise, a record that is believed to might be broken with the release of the new film. The success of Star Trek 4 made Paramount Pictures eager to start production on a fifth film with William Shatner at the helm. With Shatner’s contract in Star Trek 4, he was granted permission to direct the fifth film which is something that excited him. All of us know the outcome of Star …
