Ahh yes, Frosty the Snowman is one of my favorite Christmas movies, and I’m sure all of you feel the same way. This weeks Scores & Soundtracks features the song Frosty the Snowman performed by Jimmy Durante.
Also remember to check out the clip of the week at the bottom of the site. This week is from A Christmas Story-yes that timeless film with the infamous leg lamp.

One of my all time favorite Christmas movies and general comedies is the legendary National Lampoons Christmas Vacation starring Chevy Chase. The intro to that movie is recognizable to anyone and that’s what will start off December. Also, Bing Crosby in White Christmas singing the song with the same name. Enjoy!!!
By the way, check out the Clip of the Week at the bottom of the site for a funny clip from Christmas Vacation.

Along with the Rocky photos here’s the music video. Bill Conti’s theme from Rocky is one of the most memorable themes in cinematic history and the best usage I think, as well as NFD contributor Ernest, is from Rocky II. This scene gives me chills every time… take a look.

This week it’s all about Star Trek with the release of the new trailer for the coming movie. I was at first going to post the original opening TV series theme but then I decided to post what is my favorite theatrical theme from the Star Trek film franchise. That is The Voyage Home, pretty much the most liked generally by movie goers. It may not be the best in the franchise even though it ranks up there but with general audiences, to this day, The Voyage Home is the …

I know a lot of people out there in the world love listening to theatrical scores from their favorite films. This year, my favorite score is easily The Dark Knight by Hanz Zimmer who’s a powerhouse and James Newton Howard. It’s fantastic and it pumps you up for superhero shit.
Unfortunately it’s not good enough for the Oscars because it’s been disqualified just like the Batman Begins score in 2005. “Sources inside the committee said that the big issue was the fact that five names were listed as composers on the …

Since the premiere of Quantum of Solace is coming Friday, what better week than to feature the James Bond theme famously heard in the films of the popular franchise. Originally created by Monty Norman, the theme always signals the great MI6 agent 007. Thanks to the mad creative editing skills of Youtube user Mart138, here is his fantastic music video for Casino Royale, which takes place right before Quantum of Solace. Take a look and make sure you check out his other music videos. They’re excellent.

The best western film theme
The past couple of weeks I’ve been obsessing over the theme to The Good, The Bad and the Ugly. I’m not talking about the popular them The Ecstacy of Gold, I’m talking about the main theme. Sometimes it seems like people for get about it. This is one of the greatest Clint Eastwood movies of all time.
The theme is composed by the great Ennio Morricone and you can listen to it performed live below. It’s really amazing. All westerns wish they had this as a theme. …

Army of Darkness may not be your typical horror film. Even so it’s still a total classic and loved by many many genre fans.
Starring the great legendary Bruce Campbell I saw this movie a long time ago. I’ve never seen it in its theater run however, I caught it when it hit television but it was so long ago that I don’t remember what channel, that’s not important though. What is important is that Army of Darkness kicks ass.
The score is composed by Joseph Loduca who has composed things like Hercules …
