In just seven weeks, the new Star Trek directed by JJ Abrams will hit the big screen. During this time, we’ll be listening to the theme’s to seven of the Star Trek films - The Motion Picture, The Wrath of Khan, The Search for Spock, The Voyage Home, The Final Frontier, The Undiscovered Country, and Generations. All of those films starred William Shatner as Captain James T. Kirk.
This week is Star Trek: The Motion Picture by Jerry Goldsmith. The theme song is the same as Star Trek: The Next Generation, but …

Along with the photos for Battlestar Galactica, is the song All Along the Watchtower - a song Anders apparently wrote and Starbucks daddy played, … And nobody knows what the hell it means. It’s the turning point of the series leading up to this huge series finale we’re going to see this Friday. I’m stoked…!
First is the clip it actually showed up in, in one of the best scenes of the series - CLICK HERE to see it. Below is the song that’ll be featured on the front page.

Granted, this week is about Escape from New York, the theme from Escape from LA is better. It’s the same song but the later version is way better, however, I’m going to post both below. The main page will have the theme to LA, however.

Mad Max: Beyond Thunderdome isn’t considered to be a great film like The Road Warrior but most of us have seen it and enjoyed it a lot. Who can forget the Tina Turner song “We don’t need another hero”. Thanks to a youtube user, here is that song with clips from the first, second and third films. Enjoy!

The Terminator franchise can be recognized instantly by its theme song. In Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles, the theme isn’t exactly the same but with the flare that Bear McCreary brings it (Battlestar Galactica) you can’t deny how AWESOME the score and soundtrack is for this series.
This week I’m posting the the entire album from the first season and part of the early second season.

Since it’s the release week of Underworld 3: Rise of the Lycans and I’ve already posted a couple of photos from the franchise, I wanted to post some music from the films. The score is composed by Paul Haslinger who’s returned to score Underworld 3.
The video below is sort of a remix created by a youtube user - It has both pieces that Haslinger used for the films - “Watch Over the Night” and “Eternity and a Day”, both great songs. I love them because they have this kind of …

With the return of Battlestar Galactica, it’s a good time to share a little from Bear McCreary, the man who’s been scoring the remarkable music for the series. McCreary is truly a rising star with his music and in this post we meet in the middle - The original theme to the 1970s series, with McCreary’s touch.

2008 Reviews, Scores & Soundtracks »
If you haven’t noticed during the past couple of months every Monday I post a certain score from a movie or television show that I admire and now with the year 2008 coming to a close it’s time to choose my personal favorite score of the year. I love scores and soundtracks, that’s why I post about them every Monday but if you’ve noticed the past few weeks I’ve been posting different music because of the holidays but starting this Monday we’ll be back to our regular Scores & Soundtracks.

This isn’t a score from a movie or a television show obviously but it’s New Years and this is relevant to that. This is a music video of Kenny G’s Auld Lang Sync with photos and clips of American history. It’s amazing what this country has been through… be reminded in this video, but it ends around the year 2000, so don’t expect anything the last 9 years.
