Kicking of the week is an excellent score from Jerry Goldsmith, from one of my favorite science fiction films (in top 10), Total Recall starring Arnold Schwarzenegger. Above, you can hear the films main theme song plus the first few tracks of the soundtrack. Below, you can hear the end theme to the film during the climatic scene of the film. Whether you’re a fan of the film or not, you’ll love the score - or at least I think you will. Let’s all go to Mars…

To be honest, I don’t know who did the theme song to Barbarella. I’ve tried to find out but it’s late and I’ve given up. It doesn’t matter anyhow, if you want the song you can get it anywhere, and Jane Fonda is naked! Spoiler!

Only won song this week; from The Hunt for Red October starring Sean Connery. The music for this film is from Basil Poledouris who also did one of my top 10 soundtracks, Conan the Barbarian. Among being a fantastic film, Poledouris brings Russian red to this film with a bad-ass score adding to the greatness of this movie. I remember seeing this movie for the first time when I was younger - I was amazed by it because at the time, there was nothing like it.

Without a doubt Top Gun had one of the best soundtracks ever! In this case, however, we’ll be looking at some of the score from Harold Faltermeyer. In movies, there are some themes that EVERYONE knows - Star Wars, Indiana Jones, Rocky and so many more. The theme to Top Gun is one of those songs. Above and below you’ll be able to hear the Top Gun Anthem, Goose’s Death (that scene always killed me) and Memories. Enjoy!!

Do I even have to explain The Goonies to you? No I don’t think so. Here’s the opening theme song from Dave Grusin and of course the popular yet very random Cyndi Lauper music video. Sure, the video was great back then but now that I’m older… that was one of the most ridiculous videos ever yet still awesome. Enjoy!

If you remember, I’ve already posted this but I’m posting it again considering that I actually have a nice gallery of photos to go with it. One of Clint Eastwood’s most kick ass films, The Good, The Bad & The Ugly. Above and below are two Ennio Morricone pieces - the main theme and the popular The Ecstasy of Gold; both very epic pieces of music. Enjoy!

Shoot Em’ Up is a crazy movie. There isn’t any other way to explain it. Even so, IT KICKS ASS! This movie is full of nothing but action - ridiculous action and you can get a taste of that in the music video above featuring Motley Crew playing Kick Start My Heart which is the theme song in this film.

You remember the opening scene from Blade? It was bad-ass if you ask me and for this weeks scores and soundtracks above you’ll be able to listen to the full song from a techno group (or whatever they’re called these days) New Order. Below, is an orchestrated piece from the third film, Blade Trinity, called Drake’s Parting Gift from composer Ramin Djawadi - the movie wasn’t as good as the first two but the ending score was pretty epic. Enjoy!

This weeks soundtrack is from a movie that deserved a lot more, Stardust. Stardust is an amazing fantasy film that got great reviews but didn’t bring in the box office, hence the reason it deserved a lot more. The movie is fantastic and the music from Ilan Eshkeri is beautiful. Enjoy!

This week I’m featuring the Apollo 11 mission since it’s the 40th anniversary. Because Apollo 13 starring Tom Hanks is a fantastic film that I utterly love, I’m featuring the score from that film by James Horner. Here’s two pieces of music for you to enjoy.

This weeks featured film and soundtrack is Jurassic Park. The score for Jurassic Park is composed the legendary John Williams. I don’t need to go on because everyone knows who Williams is and what he’s done. If you don’t… you should be ashamed.
