Author: Chris B.
So, some folks have finally gotten to see Avatar’s footage and have started a plethora of comments about it, and as part of my first day at Phil’s site, in my mind, there can be no better way to start than talking about what may - or may not - be the next evolution of Sci Fi (but not SyFy, because we all know that just doesn’t work) like Cameron says it is.
In thinking about this, I wanted to ask questions of myself - What has defined the …

Hey folks, Phil here. Last week I mentioned to all of you that I was looking for another writer to help me here at NFD because I was having trouble doing all the work myself while trying to also do other projects. Among several people who responded, I’ve chosen Chris to help me out providing you folks content on NFD.
Chris is volunteering some of his free time to write posts, and he’s doing it freely - meaning he’s not getting paid. So please be kind, show him respect and enjoy …

Beware of spoilers for District 9.
It goes without saying, although I’m going to say it, film fans thirst, really thirst, for original content from filmmakers and studios. All of us are very tired and frustrated with the mass amount of remakes and sequels that are announced week after week. Sequels, however, isn’t something that I dislike - I love some sequels, but my point is that studios make many sequels to films that don’t need sequels. You all know that they only want to capitalize on the …

Most of the science fiction from the late 70s and early 80s were some of the best science fiction ever - even better than some of the SF movies today. This film, Outland, is among those as a total classic and is also another great Sean Connery flick.
You can see the trailer to the 1981 film above - Outland is one of those films that is a template for space films, giving the feeling of being cold and alone. Among other things that I love about this film, it’s all …

As your well aware, I didn’t post mostly all last week because I had a family emergency that I had to tend to. As straight forward as I can be, NFD and my day job don’t mean anything when it comes to my immediate family - I’m sure you can understand that and if you don’t, you’re an asshole. Thankfully, things have worked out and the person in question is on a road to recovery but it won’t be an easy one because of the surgery. What that means for …

Most of you, if not all of you, are well aware of the difficulties for getting a Halo film off the ground. Halo of course is the popular video game which a film would be based on. Last, super producer Peter Jackson was heading production with District 9 director Neill Blomkamp running for director, however, as things go, it fell apart and the rights went back to Microsoft. The big news - movie god Steven Spielberg may have gotten excited and is currently pursuing the product!
“IESB has learned exclusively (believe …

Beware of spoilers.
I can’t tell you how long I’ve been considering going to see GI Joe even though I predicted much of the time that this movie would be horrible. It wasn’t until the last minute I figured what the hell, I’ve seen so many bad movies in my life what’s one more. I know a lot of people like to talk trash about Michael Bay and his Transformers movies and I know a lot of people say that they don’t watch those movies for the story, only …

I can only say that for now, take this story as only a rumor, but what a rumor it is. As great as this story is, it only becomes official with studio or network word, something I don’t see happening anytime soon or if at all.
She’s controversial, funny, successful, hated, but I’ve come to enjoy trading emails and learning to appreciate her - Lanie Grace is a big fan of Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles and over the last year, has reported its cancellation as well as a script review …

I haven’t spoken about it much but the upcoming film Kick-Ass looks totally awesome!!! Take a look at a couple of bootlegged clips from Comic Con. This movie is going to rock!
“Dave Lizewski is an unnoticed high school student and comic book fan with a few friends and who lives alone with his father. His life is not very difficult and his personal trials not that overwhelming. However, one day he makes the simple decision to become a super-hero even though he has no powers or training.” [IMDB]

I’ll be very brief in this post.
If you recall, January 1st 2009, I posted posted my personal 2009 sexy celebrity top 10. That list, although I like it, wasn’t exactly something that I looked hard into and thought about, for the most part at least - my top two, Summer Glau and Megan Fox were exactly where I thought they should be.
This year, however, is different. Since the start of the year, I’ve been looking and writing down names of female celebrities that I feel a celebrity “crush”, …

This story can go in the “holy shit, this is amazing” category.
After about a month or so, the proposed Alien prequel finally has a director and it’s not Carl Erik Rinsch who was rumored to direct. The director, confirmed by Variety, is the original 1979 motion picture director, the one, the only, Ridley Scott.
“The studio has hired Jon Spaihts to write a prequel that has Ridley Scott attached to return as director,” Variety reports. “There were three sequels to Scott’s original, but it is the first time the director has …

This, my friends, is going to be INCREDIBLE!! An event to remember - Lucy Lawless, literally, in the flesh… Honestly, that’s not the only thing to look forward to in Spartacus. My hope, truthfully, is the sword and sandals series sets a spark for a new Xena and Hercules project.
If you haven’t already, make sure you check out the new trailer for Spartacus which premieres on Starz this January.

Although Star Wars: The Clone Wars is a very successful show on The Cartoon Network, it gets a bad rap from adult Star Wars fans but they’re wrong and whatever they say about this show, don’t listen to. This show is kicks ass - it’s an action-packed fun cartoon and that’s all you really need to know when going into this show.
Here’s the brand new trailer for the second season that I’m pumped to see! Enjoy!
