Hey everybody - hope everyone had a great weekend, mine was less than stellar, but what can you do? But I did manage to see Whiteout over the weekend, and it’s been a while since I did a review, so it was time to do it again.
First, to fill you in on the basic plot (since the trailers were woefully underinformative) - the always beautiful Kate Beckinsale plays U.S. Marshall Carrie Stetko, a fairly average American girl-Marshall stationed in the wild, untamed ice of Antarctica. There in a …

Most of the people I know that are my age don’t appreciate Patrick Swayze the way I do because, simply, they’re not fans of movies like I am and they haven’t seen Swayze as the macho lead in films like Roadhouse which is my favorite Swayze film among many including Red Dawn.
Sadly, Patrick Swayze has passed away due to pancreatic cancer Monday morning. It’s one of those things that we expected because he’s been sick for a long time but it still always shocks us when if finally happens.
Thankfully Swayze …

Beware of spoilers for Gamer.
Right out of the gate, let me say this about Gamer; Some movies you’re required to “leave your brain at the door” and Gamer is that movie. Those of us who’ve seen action films from Brian Taylor and Mark Neveldine (Crank and Crank: High Voltage) are no virgins to their crazy story telling and filming techniques, all of which is present in Gamer. Here’s a quick recap of what I saw in this new movie: violence, language, nudity, high-concept, The Running Man-ish plot, and …

Hey folks, I have to apologize for the severe lack in posting this week from both myself and Chris. The first week of September was a tough one for both of us. Although I can’t speak for Chris, he was having a rough time at his day job, among other things - hence lack of posting. As for me, I started out my Labor Day weekend with a slight fever and I’ve been fighting it off all week, plus, for some reason, my job has been ridiculously heavy - meaning …

In perhaps some unsurprising news, but still a little sad, Patrick Stewart and Leonard Nimoy both announced during this year’s Dragon*Con that they were likely not going to be returning to the franchise. Stewart did comment that he might do a cameo if the franchise allowed it, but ultimately he’s moved on. And I wish I could have been there - this might be the last time that the old-Trek stars ever come to a Con, especially in such force - William Shatner was there as well. …

Two movies that I’ve been looking forward to for a while, Kick-Ass and The Expendables, have been given release dates.
First up, Kick-Ass has been scheduled to make its anticipated premiere on April 16, 2010 basically kicking off next years summer movie season, granted I consider that season starting in May, but April gives us all a taste of what we hope is a good summer season for action-packed blockbusters.

Alex Kurtzman’s and Roberto Orci’s Cowboys & Aliens is on track to be an excellent film with Hollywood powerhouses all involved.
Star Trek scribes and Fringe creators, Kurtzman and Orci, currently is co-producing this film along Steven Spielberg, Ron Howard, and Brian Grazer with Iron Man star Robert Downey Jr. attached to star. It’s now being reported that Downey Jr. may reteam with his Iron Man and Iron Man 2 director to direct him further in Cowboys & Aliens.
“Jon Favreau is circuling the DreamWorks/Universal project, which has had Downey attached since …

It’s starting to look like talks for a Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles direct to DVD movie is more than just rumors now as series star Thomas Dekker (John Connor) exclusively tells The TV Addict at an event that talks for a DVD movie definitely did happen and is currently going on.
“They’ve spoken about doing a TV movie. Well, not a TV movie, but kind of like a direct-to-DVD movie,” he tells the site. “Obviously it’s difficult because the show is based on a movie and they just had one …

Update: Thomas Dekker (John Connor) confirms that there were and currently is talks about a DVD film. A post about it has been made if you want to see the full story.
A couple of weeks ago, I put up a post that spoke about the rumored return of Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles in a possible DVD movie taking place after the final scene or soon after of the second season (which you can see just above).
Just before the weekend, more news on that very rumor had hit the …

As I sift through the comments I noticed Dreadtech said I should introduce myself and explain my overall fandoms and such, and I realized somewhat belatedly that he’s right.
My name’s Chris, I work in I.T., and I love a well told story, a great character piece, or a well played action movie. I love writing ‘em, I love reading ‘em, and I love reviewing ‘em. I have a DVD/BluRay collection of probably 200 movies and 40 TV shows, plus some stuff that isn’t available on DVD on my …

The folks at Market Saw has gotten their hands on some new fantastic scans from James Cameron’s Avatar which comes out this December. Here, in these photos, we get a couple of great looks of our characters in the upcoming science fiction epic.

No, it’s not the Tim Burton version - it’s from the guys behind the very successful Tin Man mini-series, a mini-series that I really liked and also starred the awesome Zooey Deschanel.
You can find out everything there currently is on this version of Alice over SciFi Wire. After you see the trailer, I highly suggest you check out the post for the info.

I have no idea what the hell happened in this trailer. I’ve been reading a lot of the talk-back people have had for this trailer and I’ve been seeing the word “trippy” a lot. I’d have to agree, this trailer looks trippy. I don’t want to say it looks great because 1 minute isn’t much to go on. It looks like it could be good… or great, and we all love Christopher Nolan for Batman Begins and The Dark Knight, so we’re excited to see his new film.
