Hey folks. This is Phil, the owner and editor of NewFilmDimension.com. This is a sad and very difficult day for because I’ve thought long and hard on this, however, I’ve come to a decision:
I’ve decided New Film Dimension will go on without me, however, I’ll still be owner and chief editor.
I’m sure those of you who are regular readers have noticed a sharp decline in posting from myself over the past couple of months and recently, the last two weeks. Although I’ve asked two wonderful writers to join the team, …

The thing about Dollhouse and the FOX Network is nothing surprises me. I’m expecting the series to be canceled. I expected season 2 to be canceled the moment it was renewed. That being the case, I’m not even angry and in some ways I don’t care. Sure, I love the series but FOX is so predictable with it’s axe button that when Dollhouse does get canceled, the only thing I’ll do is shrug my shoulders.
Not to long ago, the network announced the series will complete its 13 episode run and …

Now this is a movie I can sink my teeth into (bad pun totally intended): young nobleman played by Benicio Del Toro goes back home after his brother disappears, only to discover there’s a great deal more going on in the town of Blackmoor than he assumes: Werewolves! The trailer shows the victorian-ish era done remarkably well (though I wager historians will inevitably cry ‘It wasnt like that!’), with excellent set designs and CG. Of particular note to me are the transformation sequences, they seem particularly well done; the actor …

The New-Yorker recently ran a rather interesting piece on director James Cameron, the directorial force (of nature in some ways) behind the Aliens movies, Terminator and Terminator 2, Titanic and his latest work Avatar. The writer goes into depth describing not just the work he’s done, but the man himself; it paints a rather interesting picture of a man who’s both awesome, and just a smidgen on the harsh side.
Examples? Well, for one, he yelled “Do you want Paul Verhoeven to finish this motherfucker?” to Arnold Schwarzenegger’s face, after he’d …

As I said on my TV Quick thoughts, I enjoy Eastwick. It’s not normally my cup of tea to like womens’ style of shows, but this show is so funny and entertaining it makes up for being a girl show - trust me, I don’t sit around watching Desperate Housewives, bleh.
Hollywood Gossip reports that ABC executives are calling Eastwick a “quiet success”. After years of development hell, being based off a very old movie, the show has still managed to pull good numbers each week, despite an overall lack of …

Hysterical Blindness
Phil:
I don’t even know where to begin. I could probably write a full article on why this episode is absolutely terrible, starting off with one word: boring! Hysterical Blindness did nothing except deal with a zombie Sylar that can’t remember who he is and is now rediscovering his powers, …. AGAIN! …

Hey folks, I just want to remind you and let you know that you have a chance, if you’re willing, to volunteer time writing for NFD.
This is going to be the last weekend to submit applications, so if you want a fair chance, send them in by Sunday! Because late Sunday night, I’m going to send an email out to the person I’ve chosen.
Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve gotten several awesome apps. with very talented people writing in. Honestly, I’m going to have a hard time choosing the …

THIS MOVIE LOOKS AWESOME!!!!!
Oh man, I can’t wait to see The Expendables. This looks like a great, fun, action packed movie. If you don’t like the trailer, I don’t know what’s wrong with you.
“Sylvester Stallone gears up for a men-on-a-mission film with the Nu Image/Millennium Films war picture The Expendables. Jason Statham and Jet Li co-star alongside the brawny filmmaker as a group of mercenaries who undertake a near-impossible operation to overthrow a dictator in South America. Mickey Rourke, Eric Roberts, Terry Crews, and UFC star Randy Couture co-star in …

There was a great deal of news this week about Star Trek and what JJ Abrams, Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci are thinking of doing with the franchise, so I thought I’d compile it all into one wonderful post for you!
First off, with the upcoming release of Star Trek on Blu-Ray, there’s been a lot of talk about what will be seen there. Well, there will indeed be a list of deleted scenes that will be accessible in the bonus features section of the disk, including a surprise Alias guest-star …
Headline, Yesterdays Movies on Tuesday »
It’s been a while since I’ve written a Tuesday review and in an attempt to revive this weekly post, I’m going to start off with this; During the past few days, I’m not really sure why, I’ve been on a Clint Eastwood western kick. As you’re well aware, Clint Eastwood has made a whole bunch of westerns, some of them are considered film classics. So far, in this round of movie watching, I’ve sat down an viewed High Plains Drifter, Joe Kidd, Two Mules for Sister Sara, and Pale Rider …

Beware of spoilers for 500 Days of Summer. I’ve wanted to see this film for months, I finally got to see it!
All of us have seen a romantic comedy at one point or another. We’ve either been dragged to the theater, seen it on DVD or seen it on television and we’re all well aware that they’re all the same. They’re either A) not funny; B) over the top cliche, and C) totally unrelatable considering the wildish circumstance’s that take place in those films. Over the years, …
