Resident Evil 4 goodness from Alice herself

Say what you want about the movie series being crap, I still like them. They’re fun, cheesy action-zombie goodness, and they all star Milla Jovovich, so thats a plus. So, the tweets from Ms.Jovovich about RE: Afterlife have filled me with something sort of like glee.

Watch this Kick-Ass Trailer (see what I did there?)

Ahh, I do love a satirical motion picture, especially when it seems to be done well. Behold Kick-Ass, based on the comic book series by Mark Miller and directed by Matthew Vaughn.

Joss makes a joke, proves sense of humor is a dying mental species

Ok, I’m a fan of the Terminator franchise. I don’t quite worship it as Chris does, and I think T2 was far better than the original, but damned if those two movies weren’t excellent viewing, and an influence I wager on my love of robots.

First Episode of Riese: The Verdict?

Greetings fellow readers! It is I, Russ, Master of Esoterica. Its been a little bit since any posts have occurred, but its time to get back in the saddle. Previously I wrote a little blurb about a web-series named Riese (here, in fact), and stated I would be downloading it. Well, its embedded so I haven’t downloaded it yet, however I have watched it.

No Sparkles Here: The Wolfman trailer

Now this is a movie I can sink my teeth into (bad pun totally intended): young nobleman played by Benicio Del Toro goes back home after his brother disappears, only to discover there’s a great deal more going on in the town of Blackmoor than he assumes: Werewolves! The trailer shows the victorian-ish era done remarkably well (though I wager historians will inevitably cry ‘It wasnt like that!’), with excellent set designs and CG. Of particular note to me are the transformation sequences, they seem particularly well done; the actor …

Guggeheim leaves FlashForward, probably wont change things much

Marc Guggenheim, co-creator of “Eli Stone”, is stepping down from the new hit series “FlashForward”, leaving David Goyer (Of Blade and Batman franchise fame) to be the sole show-runner. ABC brought him in due to Goyer’s limited experience with TV series; after getting his feet wet, so to speak, with the original 12 episode order he will be running things solo for the remaining 9 ordered episodes. Guggenheim meanwhile will be focusing on development per his deal with ABC studios.
Honestly, having never watched “Eli Stone”, nor actually having heard of …

James Cameron is a Bad@$#

The New-Yorker recently ran a rather interesting piece on director James Cameron, the directorial force (of nature in some ways) behind the Aliens movies, Terminator and Terminator 2, Titanic and his latest work Avatar. The writer goes into depth describing not just the work he’s done, but the man himself; it paints a rather interesting picture of a man who’s both awesome, and just a smidgen on the harsh side.
Examples? Well, for one, he yelled “Do you want Paul Verhoeven to finish this motherfucker?” to Arnold Schwarzenegger’s face, after he’d …
