Priest will involve blood, fangs, no sparkle

Priest should take us back to the heartening old days of anger, violence, claws, blood, and vampires with fangs, thank God. Over at SciFiWire, during the Star Trek Blu-Ray release, they got to talk to Karl Urban, who plays Black Hat in that film…

Chuck’s Coming Back Early!

As you may know from the Daily News, Chuck is coming back January 10th, and will be picking up a back six - a smaller number than normal, but still, NBC clearly knows what’s worth while and what isn’t…

NFD Daily Returns! This time, It’s Personal (Okay, no, not really)

Welcome back! I apologize to you all for my extended absence - there really are good reasons however. I’ve been working 12 hour shifts at work to adjust for the new network we’re setting up, and it left me utterly without the energy to update the site. However, as you can tell, David and Russ are working to keep you up to date when they can, and now that I’m back, I’ve got a bevvy of news bits for you and some articles. Let’s get it started!

Video Game Movie News Extravaganza! (I love that word)

Again, at Slashfilm, we get the skinny on some of the upcoming video game movies coming up in the coming years.
Adrian Askarieh and Daniel Alter, apparently some muckety-mucks in the video-game movie … game… talk about their upcoming films, Kane and Lynch, Just Cause, and Hitman 2.
First off, Bruce “McClane” Willis has signed up to play the character “Kane” in the Kane and Lynch movie.  They say it’s a great action movie premise and will be wonderful - we’ll see.
The Just Cause project is moving forward as well, though very …

TMNT Rights sold to Nickelodeon… Ugh

Okay… I know I’m one of the few, the happy few, who saw the original work done on the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles - the original comic was darkly satirical of real action movies. It was kind of funny, but not the hamfest that we got from later iterations of the damn thing. Well, news trickled down today from Slashfilm (apparently the only news source worth a damn today), that the rights to the TMNT property were sold today … to Nickelodeon.
Yay. Just what we need. …

ABC says Eastwick is a success - plus new photos of the gorgeous women of Eastwick

As I said on my TV Quick thoughts, I enjoy Eastwick.  It’s not normally my cup of tea to like womens’ style of shows, but this show is so funny and entertaining it makes up for being a girl show - trust me, I don’t sit around watching Desperate Housewives, bleh.
Hollywood Gossip reports that ABC executives are calling Eastwick a “quiet success”.  After years of development hell, being based off a very old movie, the show has still managed to pull good numbers each week, despite an overall lack of …

New Images from vampire apocalypse movie Daybreakers

Over at IO9, they’re displaying some new images from the big new VampirePocalypse flim, Daybreakers. I’ve attached the images to this article.
The plot of the movie sounds… weird, but definitely interesting. With the world’s blood supply running out, Vampires are forced to put us into huge automated blood systems reminiscent of a cross between Blade Trinity’s blood farms and the Matrix’s human battery fields. (The image shows this…)
The few humans left running around are trying to come up with a cure to stop vampirism because it’s destroying …

Tom Clancy Ryan novels getting YET another reboot - this time with Chris Pine?

Well, as is wont to happen over the years, the Jack Ryan movies based on Tom Clancy’s series of novels are getting another reboot - this time maybe with Star Trek’s Chris Pine as the lead.
The actor is currently in talks with Paramount, according to Variety, to appear as Jack Ryan, and though talks have just begun, it’s unlikely he’ll turn them down - so they say, anyway.
Pine is slated for a lot of Paramount hits at the moment, so he is probably their new golden boy.
In the previous movies, …

Heroes character to die! World shrugs, continues watching FlashForward

I kid, I kid. Or do I?
Seriously, the big news today from E! online (and also on Greg Grunberg’s twitter) is that someone, a member of the original Season 1 cast of Heroes, is going to die soon.
The article states that it’s going to be one of the original cast, and will be male, but can’t state anything else. Something I think is interesting is, a few weeks back, Greg Grunberg hid a camera inside some white bandages as his character was being wheeled into …
