In other Who News…the new TARDIS

Once again, i09 brings us news about the new series, by way of Gallifrey Base. A poster there by the name of Bluehinter claims he or she has gotten a look at the new set which will be revealed later this year. It supposedly has two different levels, linked by a spiral staircase, and several other rooms including the ubiquitous console room(how could you not have that?), a lab, sitting room, corridors and other such sundry little holes in the wall. Its been designed to be modular, no doubt to save on production costs and to contribute to the impression that the TARDIS really is a dimensionally transcendent space, an impression sorely lost on the viewers in my opinion during the last two incarnations of the Doctor.

The console room iself is a hexagonal affair attached to a square, with gold, silver and marble replacing the coral and brass look(someone went and changed the desktop theme again it seems…). The roundels decorating the walls have been turned into inverted hemispheres, with different color schemes demarcating the various rooms within(another convenient way of making more rooms; new color? New room!).

As usual, considering its from a forum poster, get your dumptrucks of salt ready, but hey, it sounds pretty damn cool to me!
