TMNT Rights sold to Nickelodeon… Ugh
Okay... I know I'm one of the few, the happy few, who saw the original work done on the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles - the original comic was darkly satirical of real action movies. It was kind of funny, but not the hamfest that we got from later iterations of the damn thing. Well, news trickled down today from Slashfilm (apparently the only news source worth a damn today), that the rights to the TMNT property were sold today ... to Nickelodeon.
Yay. Just what we need. Call me crazy, but I was one of the people who enjoyed the TMNT CGI movie 2 years back, I thought it was interesting, somewhat deep, and damned entertaining. Plus it had Patrick Stewart as the villain, so how can you go wrong? (Answer: You can't!)
They say that the new film will be a hybrid-CGI film like Transformers, but honestly, if Nick's in charge of the rights, I really don't care anymore. Slashfilm suspects that the original creative team will stay in tact, but I'm dubious.

I too really liked the CG film. I had so much fun with it and it was a movie that made me feel good in the end. That’s vague, … I can’t explain it.
I hoped a new film would be a sequel to the CG film but I’m not sure what will happen now. Apparently, Paramount Pictures is producing the film but that doesn’t mean anything.
