Superman/Batman: Public Enemies sequel!!
Have you seen Superman/Batman: Public Enemies yet? If you haven't, I recommend it for any fan of the animated shows - you can also read my full review for S/B: Public Enemies.
The direct to DVD film from Warner Premiere has been very successful for the studio according to Mania.com. Wikipedia says that, "at the DVD sales chart, Superman/Batman: Pubic Enemies opened at #5, selling 197,626 in the first week for a revenue of $3,222,460. As of the second week, 256,700 units have been sold translating to $4,276,981 in revenue. This does not include rentals/Blu-ray sales."
The success of the film has promted Warner Premiere to begin thinking about a sequel. Mania says, "details are sketchy for Superman/Batman 2 but most likely it'll draw from one of the subsequent story lines from the Jeph Loeb comic series."
What that story is, I have no clue for the simple reason that I don't usually read comics so I don't know what is in the Jeph Loeb series. You can, however, read some of the history at Wikipedia but it's a long read so find the time - I haven't yet but I'd like to read more of this large entry later.
Mania has their opinion on what the next film should be after but as far as I'm concerned I'm just happy another film is on the way. If you haven't read my review (link above), I really enjoyed this film; it's very fun and it's a pleasure watching Superman and Batman beating the shit outta other superheroes. Hopefully, the sequel also means more Power Girl who's my new female superhero favorite
