Guggeheim leaves FlashForward, probably wont change things much
Marc Guggenheim, co-creator of "Eli Stone", is stepping down from the new hit series "FlashForward", leaving David Goyer (Of Blade and Batman franchise fame) to be the sole show-runner. ABC brought him in due to Goyer's limited experience with TV series; after getting his feet wet, so to speak, with the original 12 episode order he will be running things solo for the remaining 9 ordered episodes. Guggenheim meanwhile will be focusing on development per his deal with ABC studios.
Honestly, having never watched "Eli Stone", nor actually having heard of the man before, I'm not in a spectacular position to comment on whether this is a good move or not. A little reading indicates Guggenheim has a bit of a notorious reputation, handling series badly and having issues with writers; whether this is true or not is another story. Goyer however has my unabashed support; the man has written some of my favorite movies of the decade(The Blade Trilogy, Batman Begins\The Dark Knight), as well as having written Blade: The Series. If his writing talents extend to the showrunning realm, I have no doubts that FlashForward will be a long-running hit.
