Rhona Mitra joins the cast of StarGate Universe!

Holy cow! It was announced today that Rhona Mitra, the most adorable vampire in leather since Kate Beckinsale, is going to have a recurring role in Stargate Universe! She will be an alien named Kiva, and will have at least three episodes, the last two of which will be the two-part finale.

Unfortunately, she'll be playing the oh-so-typical Stargate/StarTrek wet blanket character, to quote the news release, "A strong-willed commander of an alien incursion force. Kiva will do whatever it takes to safeguard her people even if it is at the ultimate expense of the Destiny crew."

Whatever. This is how they're going to end the season? They'd better handle it well, because this sounds like another absurd Lucian Alliance plotline. I'm not going to give up hope or anything like that, the show still has potential, but this kind of summary doesn't inspire hope.

That woman is such a hottie. I hoped for her to play Lara Croft in the future. But I think that won’t happen.

I’m with you - I’d love to see Rhona play Croft in a future film. A new Tomb Raider movie is definitely on the board but it’s unclear when that will get started or if there is even a script.

Knowing the idiots in charge of Hollywood lately they’ll probably give it to Megan Fox, who really shouldn’t have it.
