Transformers 3 Loses Kurtzman and Orci, gains release date

Last week, Michael Bay made a formal announcement that Transformers 3 will be released on July 1st 2011 - which is still too far away for us to care (assuming anyone cares in the first place), so I was lax about posting.
What was amusing, though, was how he announced it. Apparently Megan Fox has been saying some bad stuff about Bay (I don't read tabloids, so I'm really not aware of her gripes), and Bay's response was included with the announcement of the movie's release date on his official blog:
Well its official: We have a great Transformers 3 story. The release date is now July 1st 2011. Not 2012.
Today is Day One. This morning started with an ILM meeting for five hours in San Francisco. Currently I'm flying with writer Ehren Kruger to Rhode Island to talk to Hasbro about new characters.
P.S. Megan Fox, welcome back. I promise no alien robots will harm you in any way during the production of this motion picture. Please consult your Physician when working under my direction because some side effects can occur, such as mild dizziness, intense nausea, suicidal tendencies, depression, minor chest hair growth, random internal hemorrhaging and inability to sleep. As some directors may be hazardous to your health, please consult your Doctor to determine if this is right for you.
Pain and Gain is right after shooting of Trans 3.
Michael
I laughed, that's just a great quote, even if he is kind of a bad director.
However, new news today was that Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci, the writers of Star Trek, Alias, and Mission Impossible 3, have walked away from the project. As revealed on SlashFilm today, the much-adored Trek writers are stepping aside to make room for new blood. This leaves the script in the hands of Ehren Kruger, who apparently shared a writing credit on Revenge of the Fallen, and is being blamed for the off-color humor that people say ruined the RotF.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't Bay write the rest of the script himself when he feared the writers' strike was going to derail the production? Was Ehren Kruger doing it? If so how did he/she get away with writing it when they weren't in the WGA?? I don't see how anyone can be responsible for the bad dialogue other than Bay since the writers were on strike.
Rumors state the next one will focus more on the dippy roommate from RotF - if it does, I'm probably not even going to go see it. It's well known that Shia wasn't very happy during the last one, though that may have been partially because of his hand being broken, and may not come back for another. The one character I spent all of Transformers 2 wanting to strangle was Sam's stupid roommate. In every way this flick was worse than the first Transformers, and the first one was hardly a masterpiece, though I like it for the same reason I like Ghost Rider - it's plain cheesy fun.

US $12.49

Well they should have targeted the young audience, make it PG rather than PG-13.
@B - Or , I dunno, given the robots some lines? With the exception of two scenes, the robots are just there to fisticuff. I remember a cartoon where the *transformers* were the focus.
