Adrian Brody leads an announced cast for PREDATORS!
It comes as a surprise for all of us who are excited to see if Robert Rodriguez and Nimrod Antal can resurrect the Predator franchise, that Oscar winner Adrian Brody has been cast as the lead character in the upcoming scifi action. Joining the already casted Danny Trejo and UFC fighter Oleg Taktrov is Alice Braga (I Am Legend), Mahershalalhashbaz Ali (The 4400), Walt Goggins (The Shield), with Topher Grace in negotiations. By the way, yes, Mahershalalhashbaz is a real name.
"Brody is a man who ends up inheriting the mantle of leader and is know as a hunter of men," The Hollywood Reporter explains. "Grace would play an accountant-type whose unassuming facade masks a dangerous serial killer."
"Braga is the tough female killer. Ali is a man not afraid to die, Goggins is the loose canon of the group and Taktarov is a former Russian special ops agent. Trejo, already cast, is Cuchillo, a hardened warrior with twin uzis strapped to his back."
I think this is going to be the first time we'll see Adrian Brody as a bad-ass, if he can pull it off. I was already pretty much sold on this film just from the concept and road Rodriguez said the film will take, but having Brody on board is enough to make me think that the script is awesome enough to get an Oscar winner to join the cast. That, or Brody is a closet fanboy and he's about to be hunted by Predators. Who wouldn't take that role...
