Have you ever thought about being a blogger? Now you can as I, Phil the owner and chief editor of NFD, am looking for a new news writer to help out Chris and I in providing daily content. We're fast approaching the holiday season; if you're unaware, blogging is just a hobby and I have to work everyday to pay the bills. I, unfortunately, work for UPS or the United Parcel Service. As you can imagine, work is beginning to pick up for the holiday's which means more hours there and less hours on NFD. And Chris as well has his own things to do but he also does provide much content weekly. Even still, there are always plenty of content that doesn't make it to post because we've either done a lot already or haven't gotten to it. Now it's time for you to help out.  Although this is a hobby, I still make it a priority to provide those who come daily, daily content to read or just to look at.

Your job:

Your only job will be this; to provide written content Monday through Friday. The work written will be assigned by me via email. That means, don't provide me, NFD, and the readers with content of your choosing. That's not what I'm looking for, at least for the time being. If you're looking to write reviews and editorials, then maybe you should look someplace else. As for now, I'm only looking for someone willing to help take off a little burden from myself and Chris as we get through the season and do other things. You won't be required to write much at all; in fact, I'm only looking for someone that can add 3 to 5 posts during the week and if you're focused on that task, writing that many will only take you between 30 min to an hour. That's not much out of your day. They'll even be some days when you won't have to do anything.

The catch:

Here's the thing; Unfortunately, writing for NFD would be an unpaid service. You'll be volunteering your time to help us out while also providing content for readers. It is entirely possible that if you continue to work with us, eventually being paid for service rendered could be in the future. In short, during the next year I'll be working to try and evolve NFD into something entirely different in which I may be able to pay. That, however, is a maybe and is NOT guaranteed.

The benefit for you:

Experience. Blogging for NFD will bring you experience in this type of work. To be more specific, you won't actually be using Wordpress as all your work will be submitted through email for my review - after that, I'll personally post it under your name. The experience gained will be actually writing articles and finding your groove and personality in those articles. If you eventually decide to move on from NFD and to blog for a website willing to pay, you'll have a full archive of your work to show, plus you'll also have my help if you're required to use Wordpress for another site. I'll gladly take the time to show you the ins and outs of the program but for now, while writing for NFD, you'll only submit work.

Requirements:

Basically, nothing. You only need to know how to type. This, because it's unpaid, is entry level

What you need to do:

To apply for the one position, you'll need to write me a small resume. Here's what I'll need:

1. Take two news items from anywhere on the net and write an article for each as if you were going to post it on NFD. I want to see your writing capabilities. My suggestion; look at some of my posts. Try to write them in magazine form. Provide full info and provide linked sources.
2. Last, write me a paragraph or two on why you want to blog in general.

That's it folks. That's all I need. It's easy and simple.

Now this is very IMPORTANT:

To submit your resume, you'll need to submit it via email. In your subject line; NFD Resume. Please provide your real name and your real email address. NO nicknames and NO ghost addresses.

If you can't follow those two simple directions, your app will be tossed out as you're not able to follow directions.
