Book of Eli Trailer is awesome!

Lately, I've gotta admit, the post-apocalyptic thriller genre has taken a steep dive. They always seem to result in cannibals, one character making a terrible mistake you could see coming from the beginning of the film, and a bunch of bad plot decisions. I have to say, America always seems to complain about how predictable and unoriginal Sci-Fi movies have become, but they tout and squeal every horror film that comes out of the studios - horror and apocalypse movies are the easiest things in the world to predict. But, Denzel rarely picks a bad script, and I've never seen Gary Oldman pick a bad script, so these two actors give me hope for this film!!

I saw this one in front of The Surrogates, and it had my attention and held it. It reminds me a lot of Terminator Salvation, except without the Technophobia and perhaps better executed. Moviefone says the following about the movie:

In a post-apocalyptic America where the once-picturesque countryside has become a desolate and violent wasteland, one man (Denzel Washington) fights to protect that sacred tome that could hold the key to the survival of the human race in this futuristic thriller from filmmaking duo Albert and Allen Hughes.

I don't know what the more in-depth plot points will be, but this trailer looks FUN, and I want to see post-apocalyptic horror go back a bit to its heyday. Here's hoping Denzel and Gary don't disappoint!!

It really does look great. I’m pumped to see it. Just like you, I can’t wait to see Denzel and Gary Oldman act off each other. It could be epic. Isn’t this Denzel’s first genre movie since Virtuosity??

And Chris, don’t ever mention T4 again without my permission. Mentioning that movie is grounds for termination… no pun intended, LOL God, I hate that movie.
