As much as I love Megan Fox, She really needs to stop talking ALSO Why did Jennifer’s Body BOMB financially
I haven't seen Jennifer's Body yet and although I hear only mediocre things about it, I still plan on seeing it because, yes, Megan Fox for me is a selling point. It's no secret that I'm somewhat of a defender of Fox - she's beautiful and people hate her. No, that's not a cliche that's just the sad truth and we've seen it before with actresses - Angelina Jolie is usually referenced. Personally, I think Fox is one of the most attractive actresses in the business but lately her mouth has been getting her in trouble. To put it simply, she doesn't know when to shut the fuck up and she knows it, but at the same time she just doesn't stop.
The most recent example is this; Thanks to the folks from The Movie Blog, they quote Fox from a recent article of Rolling Stones Magazine in which she rightfully and understandably complains about being scrutinized for everything she says. That's the life actors and actress have to go through and it's getting her down.
"I'm really tired of being exploited and having everything I say sensationalized," she says. "It's an unbearable lifestyle."
I can't argue with that. She isn't the only person that goes through that - having a quote misinterpreted or twisted to the media's satisfaction. So, after reading that I figured "yea, I get it. Sometimes the glamorous life of an actress leaves no room for personal life", etc.
Here's the thing. She then goes on to ruin her sentiments by saying something so ridiculous even I cringed, yet at the same time found it kinda hot.
"Men are scared of powerful, confident vagina's. But I wasn't born with a special vagina."
Lol, Jesus Megan... you could have left it at the "unbearable lifestyle" quote but you had to kill it with that.
Here's exactly what I think of Megan Fox in a couple of short sentences. I think she's one of the hottest women alive. I think with all the interviews I've seen of her, she seems extremely cool and half-way intelligent. In some cases she seems charming. I don't think she's a terrible actress as a lot of people make her out to be although I'll be the first to admit I don't see any major awards in her future, at least if she keeps up what she's doing. Finally, I do see potential for improvement because everyone has the potential for improvement. I won't rule that out just because... like most people have been doing.
Megan Fox has a big mouth but she's definitely an interesting character. There's a chance she may one day fade away but as long as she's here, I'm a fan, supporter, and defender of what everybody seems to hate - not just to be different from everybody else, but because most people hate her for no good reason except that it seems like the thing to do when a hot actress comes along. It's not a secret that when a hot popular actress comes to view, words like "overrated", "eye candy" and the list goes on, comes along.
In other news, although I haven't seen Jennifer's Body yet, the films opening weekend was pretty much a disaster at the box office. I actually didn't even realize it until my friend pointed it out to me Wednesday night when he said, "what do you think of Jennifer's Body bombing at the box office?" I said, "I don't even know how much it made - I didn't even check, honestly".
Here's the deal, Jennifer's Body was film for $16 million according to Box Office Mojo. That's very low budget for a wide release. By Monday morning, it only made $6.8 million. Yes, that's a bomb alright and the mediocre reviews aren't helping it.
EOnline.com posted up an interesting article on why Jennifer's Body failed. Most people might think Megan Fox was the reason for its failure but box-office analyst Jeff Bock of Exhibitor Relations has another theory and in most cases, it's probably fact.
"...genre," the article at E! says. "Americans get horror. They get comedy. But the idea of those two things together in one place, people suddenly get very dumb."
"The horror-comedy genre is the toughest sell in Hollywood," Bock continues in the article. "...noting flicks like Tremors, Slither, Shaun of the Dead, Eight Legged Freaks and the Evil Dead series."
Bock also talks about the R rating and how, in this case, did impact the film greatly. "Megan Fox and Amanda Seyfried in a flick set in high school - it sounds like the perfect package for teens," E! says. "Except the R rating banned many teens from the theaters."
"...you have an R-rated film marketed to whom, exactly?"
This is a situation that I'm sure many people could argue and will more than likely still blame Megan Fox for it. I don't know your thoughts but it makes sense to me - Why do you think so many horror/comedy films are called "cult-classics"? It's because they didn't make any big money in the box office but eventually became huge on home release. I'm not saying JB will do the same but the fact remains that past horror/comedy movies never got the theater buzz it needed at the time.

another issue was that they had a “R”-rating but they didn’t make it count. I.e. no Megan Fox nudity. Granted not a lot of people would pay to see it in theaters anyway for the nudity alone, but at least it’d get people talking, and get the film sold on dvd. although i liked the money i can see why it didn’t really sell to the masses.
They should have make it PG 13, or whichever rating system they use. Most horror flicks are mediocre at best.
When I saw the trailer my first thought was a cool movie to watch with friends and beers. So I’m going to wait for the dvd.
This movie was not a R movie, it was PG-13, I think the ratings board was smoking serious crack on this one. Morons.
Good kissing scene though.
I’ll have a review up in a couple of days but at best, this is a B level movie (nothing wrong with that) that definitely should be watched in a group of folks who enjoy B level films. You’ll probably get the most fun out of that. I’ll say this - people are going and have been bitching about Megan Fox’s performance in this film and I can tell you, it’s not her fault. More on that in my review.
