Battlestar Galactica gets a kind of Nod during the Emmy Awards PLUS Tuesday’s Emmy photos
The 2009 Emmy Awards.
That's the song played during the "Drama montage" at last nights Emmy Awards - Prelude to War by Bear McCreary for Battlestar Galactica.
During the presentation just before the Drama genre section begun at the Emmy's one of the best, if not thee best, science fiction shows of all time gets somewhat of a nod during a major award event. Featured song and mentioned by title and a short clip the SyFy channel original series Battlestar Galactica made it to the Prime Time telecast, however, it should have been nominated for best series. I'm betting the academy put Galactica into the telecast because they recognize how amazing of a television show it is but it's still science fiction and doesn't deserve to be nominated for best Drama even though it's better than half the shows nominated. As much as I love LOST, I know BSG is a better series with a better ensemble but it doesn't matter now since the series is over.
If your looking for a winners list, honestly, you can go to hundreds of websites around the net to see the winners - it's not like it's an exclusive. Here's a link to the winners over at the official Emmy website. You can also see the winners of the Creative Arts Emmys in which BSG won one Emmy... for sound editing.... wow. By the way, Legend of the Seeker won for best original score - that's fine - BSG wasn't even nominate.... its score wasn't nominated! Is it me or does BSG have the best television score since maybe the 90's. Whatever, it's bullshit. Oh, yea, also BSG didn't win for best Visual Effects... it lost out to HEROES!!! That's such a joke. Whatever, I'm starting to hate the Emmy's. They actually honor reality shows. What a joke!
Anyhow, most of you are probably wondering, "hey, where are the Emmy red carpet photos?" The answer is, come back on Tuesday. I'm going to dedicate the day's posting for Emmy photos only! Speaking of which, did anyone see Anna Torv from Fringe. OMG... I died when she came out on stage!
It's also worth mentioning that NPH was friggin' great as the host.
