NFD Daily

Daily film and television news.

Dichen Lachman blew me out of my chair this past Monday with a set of photos with herself and Eliza Dushku.  I won't explain it because it needs to be experienced - check out the pics of Dichen in Self Magazine and click this photo just above to enlarge:

NFD FEATURED:

Above is the trailer to the limited release of THIS IS IT! - the Michael Jackson film documenting the rehearsals for what would of been his final concert before his death.

News like this just gets me made because the Terminator producers piss me off because they're idiots.  Apparently, a judge gave Halcyon some cash as a cash collateral for future work - as in Terminator 5.... ughh, read the full story at Variety.

Again from Variety, Warner Bros. has decided not to go forward with a new Masters of the Universe film and have let go of the rights - Mattel, the He-Man company,  is now shopping studios.  It's too bad - Grayskull sounded like it was going to be cool.

Watchmen's Jeffrey Dean Morgan has joined the remake of Red Dawn starring Chris Hemsworth, which I believe has just started filming.  According to Morgan, he'll be playing the Powers Booth role from the first film.  Read the full story over at ComingSoon.net.

The amazing Christoph Waltz, Col. Hans Landa from Inglourious Basterds, has apparently signed on to The Green Hornet to play the main baddie, a role Nicolas Cage turned down. [Deadline Hollywood]

Take a look at the cast of Sexy and the City 2 stopping for photos while filming in NYC (click to enlarge):

This news is from early last week but I forgot to post it; Rumor has it that B.A. BBaracus has been cast for the upcoming A-Team movie.  The Vancouver Sun says that UFC bad-ass Quinton "Rampage" Jackson may be taking on the iconic role made popular by Mr. T!

More A-Team news; BlackFilm.com has reported that District  9 star Sharlto Copley may have been offered the role of "Howling Mad" Murdock once played by Dwight Schultz.  That means if he accepts, the A-Team will consist of Liam Neeson as Hannibal, Bradley Cooper as Faceman, Rampage Jackson as B.A. and Copley Mad Murdock.  Personally, I think that's a great cast!

Collider.com reports on some Akira news - great news in my opinion.  Children of Men and Iron Man scribes Mark Fergus and Hawk Ostby are going to turn in their treatment of Akira to Warner Bros.!  Although this movie may be different than the anime, I'm still very curious about it.

Ever wondered what the craziest Joker kills are?  Topless Robot has an awesome top 10 list that any Batman and Joker fan will take pleasure out of reading.

The verbal battle between Megan Fox and Michael Bay continues with Transformers crew members joining in and basically calling Megan Fox an asshole.  Here's a quote; "Many think she just really hates the process of being an actress... Megan really is a thankless, classless, graceless, and shall we say unfriendly bitch. It's sad how fame can twist people, and even sadder that young girls look up to her." There's a lot more to that which you can read over at io9.com.

The things I'd be happy to do to Michelle Ryan (click to enlarge):

Word from the D3 Expo on future Pixar films and its sequels. Read it over at ComingSoon.net.

Bruce Campbell talks about Spider-Man 4 and says that he'll have a bigger role this time around and may start filming this coming January. [CS]

Again from CS, The CG film The Smurfs has been pushed back from December 17, 2010 to July 29, 2011.

Apparently, there is more to the V production delay that we thought - Michael Ausiello reported some rumors that you can read over at SciFiScoop.com.

There's a few Stargate Universe behind the scenes videos you can see over at Gateworld.net.

There's a new scifi western on the way according to SciFi Scoop and Josh Hartnett will be starring.   Sadly, it's being produced by McG... ugh.

Tron producer Steven Lisberger  talks about the upcoming film and technology. [io9.com]

Thanks to my dad, as a matter of fact, he sent me an email letting me know that Harrison Ford is ready for Indiana Jones 5.  He says that himself, Steven Spielberg, and George Lucas have agreed on an object to create a film around.  Hopefully when made, and it will be made, it won't disappoint folks like the fourth one did - and as much as I like him, I agree, we don't need Labeouf in the sequel.  Head on over to People.com for the full story.

Michael Bay gives a couple of updates on Transformers 3 which sounds like he'll be pursuing, Bad Boys 3, and Pain & Gain. [GeekyRant.com]

Peter Berg sunk my Battleship... ughh. [Variety]

Here's a set of Kristen Bell on set of her new movie You Again (click to enlarge):
