Jeffrey Dean Morgan wants to return to Supernatural and play Lobo, presumably not at the same time

The indomitable Jeffrey Dean Morgan (Watchmen) spoke to SciFi Wire recently about Supernatural, playing the boys' father, John.

"I just read somewhere that [series creator Eric] Kripke wants me back," Morgan said. "That guy, I think he's probably lying, but if it is, in fact, their last year, I'd like to come back. If it really is going to be canceled after this year, I'd like to come back. I've been saying for the last four years that that storyline got cut out too soon. I'd love to go back for at least one episode or something. I love those guys."

If he wants to come back, I think Eric Kripke should let him. Eric's stated time and time again that this season is about the no-holds-barred End of the World, and what better time to bring back the dead then the apocalypse? I didn't have time yet to watch Supernatural from last week, but I heard it was excellent, and I'm hoping this entire season pays off the incredible build-up this show has had. No show in years has been this well-prepared, thought out, and executed, except Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles. (Certainly not BSG and it's lackluster hippie tree-hugger finale, it was obvious that was not planned.) So I'm excited to see how this wraps up.

That being said, Jeffrey also stated that "playing Lobo would be cool," when approached by the media about rumors that he was going to be the monstrous biker character. I can't think of a better actor to play the part than Jeffrey, so I hope he gets it. You can see the full story here.
