xXx 3 - Xander Cage Gets a New Director
xXx 3 - the dully-named "Xander Cage" just got a Director. According to ComingSoon.net, Ericson Core (director of Invincible, director of photography on Fast and Furious) will now be directing the film. Newl Moritz and Joe Roth are producing.
But then I read a little further down...
John Brancato and Michael Ferris (Terminator Salvation) wrote the script for "Xander Cage." It involves Cage's return to the National Security Agency after an eight-year absence. Richard Wilkes, who wrote the original movie, did a recent polish.
WHAT???! (This is a blog site, I can yell WHAT?!?! if I want to.) Why the hell are these people still being allowed to write films? You may not be aware of their career beyond the moderately-received Terminator Salvation - these are the morons who brought us Halle Berry's Catwoman, and Terminator 3.
That is not a resume, that is a list of reasons to oust them from Hollywood and never, ever let them back in.
I loved xXx - as you can probably tell from my outrage. The loss of Rob Cohen combined with screenwriters that wouldn't know an intuitive, fun plot if it walked up and bit them has ruined my enthusiasm for this film. All I can say is I hope Vin has negotiated so he's paid well, because the plot certainly won't be worth it.
