Lionsgate has picked up Matthew Vaughn's Kick-Ass after it became a hit during the 2009 San Diego Comic-Con.  Again, from AICN, head on over there to read the full press release.

The Stargate franchise is taking use out of the new media and along with Stargate Universe, 30 webisodes are being produced according to Gateworld.net.

The folks from Collider have been to the set of Defying Gravity, a new show that I love but will probably be canceled at the end of its first season because of misrable ratings.  Even still, the set report is a good read for anyone who watches the show.

Remember the movie Interview with the Vampire?  Remember Tom Cruise who played Lastat?  It's a great movie and Cruise is great in it.  Now, according to Bloody-Disgusting, rumor has it that Robert Downey Jr. is in talks to play Lastat in a new film.

A couple of first look photos have hit the new with Leonardo Dicaprio and Ellen Page on the set of Christopher Nolan's Inception.  Both ComingSoon.net and JustJared.com have the photos.

Comedian Patton Oswalt is joining the Battlestar Galactica prequel, Caprica, as a recurring character.  Oswalt will play Baxter Sarno, "a popular Caprican comedian talk show host on whose show Daniel Graystone and Amanda Graystone, ultimately appear." [The Hollywood Reporter]

Frank Darabont is going to write and direct a small screen adaptation of The Walking Dead according to Variety.

Vin Diesel has been talking up more Riddick films for a while.  Apparently, the future of the franchise is being talked about and they're in ratings stage.  David Twohy wants a bad ass R film while the studio wants their loved PG-13 rating.  AICN has the full story.

Although I don't believe anything that The Sun says, apparently, Sienna Miller, Jessica Alba and Katherine Heigl are in the running to play Barbarella.

Although scripts have been written, the Stargate SG-1 and Stargate Atlantis movies are on hold because the studios are waiting for the economy to shift.  Although they're excited to move forward with the film they want to really capitalize on them.  They can't do that during a recession... can't say I blame them. Sony has hired a writer to pen Spider Man 5 and 6, but does anyone really care anymore?  Variety has the story.

AirlockAlpha.com asks if the Dollhouse episode Epitaph One did more harm than good.  I totally forgot to write about that episode.  I bought the first season DVD and saw the episode, loved it, and never wrote about it.  Expect a quick thought soon.

I wish more CG movies can look like the trailer for Starcraft.  This looks amazing.

Chud.com reports that Diora Baird auditioned for a role in Marvel's Thor film, but as of now, it's not clear what role that is.

The first look at Ryan Reynolds in his upcoming film Buried has been posted online over at TwitchFilm.net.

There is a rumor that Peter Jackson may direct a third Hobbit film meant to bridge Guillermo Del Toro's Hobbit films and Jackson's Lord of the Rings.  Read the full story over at Market Saw.

Director Peter Berg talks to SciFi Wire about a sequel to Hancock.  I wasn't crazy about that movie and I'm honestly not thrilled with talk about a sequel.  Who cares really.

Firstshowing.net has details on Earth vs. Moon, which is an interesting concept to say the least.  There is even talk of trying to get Will Smith to play the lead role.

HBO is working to get two new science fiction shows on the air.  Read about the ideas over at Variety.com.
