J. Michael Straczynski audio interview
Joe Michael Straczynski is more than just a writer, he's the template writer for all of today's television shows because of a little show he did in the 90s called Babylon 5. Babylon 5 is number two on my list for most favorite franchises in movies and television with Star Trek as number one.
The Babylon Podcast is a Internet podcast that I used to listen to religiously, but lately I've only listened here and there because of time. I still catch up on shows when I have time because it's a great show and it's the best source for keeping the Babylon 5 spark that I still have, alive.
When I went to their site a couple of days ago to download some shows, they had up a two-part interview with JMS! JMS was a hard guest to get on the show because he once said that he wanted everyone else that was involved with B5 to get their chance to talk about the show - then, eventually, he'd come on. That time has come!
Not only is the interview great for Babylon 5 fans, it's also great for movie and television fans who want behind the scenes industry knowledge. JMS, among many other things, talks about the industry process, how dysfunctional it could be at times, between studios and networks. It is in fact very enlightening and it honestly explains a lot when we as fans see our favorite shows canceled, poorly promoted, or just plain-old-screwed.
