Walter Cronkite has passed away
The last few months has been a hard time for fans of film, music, and now history.
"Cronkite's longtime chief of staff, Marlene Adler, said Cronkite died at 7:42 p.m. at his Manhattan home surrounded by family," reports Fox News. "She said the cause of death was cerebral vascular disease."
Today, the media is full of news reporters, anchors, analysts, etc., however back in the 60s and 70s there was, among a few, one - Walter Cronkite. He is said to be "the most trusted man in America" because of his professional and kind personality. Cronkite wasn't only "the most trusted man in America", he was the voice of history as he reported the news from the assassination of JFK, the Apollo 11 landing, the Vietnam War, the assassination of Martin Luther King Jr., and many many more stories which are now historical moments in this country and the world.
Sadly, how ironic his death comes during the weekend of the 40th anniversary of the Apollo 11 moon landing - the mission and the moment he might be most remembered for, among JFK's assassination.
In honor of his death but more his life, lets look back at some of those historical moments in time, frozen, thanks to Youtube.
