Everyone has his opinion. I know only one friend who at least likes Superman Returns "a little". Me... I still think, it has some moments and Brandon Routh is perfect for the role. But still the film was IMO simply boring to me. It was a huge mistake not to reboot the franchize, or to continue with a better super-villain (or at least Luthor in some kind of an alien megasuit or something) and a much more action oriented story. I disliked the whole Krypton-Continent plot and the stupid Gene Hackman like Luthor.
I don't care if Singer does the sequel or not. I believe he has learned from his mistakes he made with Superman Returns and won't repeat them. Whoever's doing it, I believe the sequel will be much better, except they do an action only film and forget all about the story. The important part is to merge story and action together so that it co-exists perfectly. Something that didn't really worked out in Star Trek. That one had action without any meaning (those two beasts on Delta Vega for example).

I hope for the best, since I like that alien reporter a lot.
