Mortal Kombat 3 starts filming this September?!
I remember when Mortal Kombat came out for Sega Genesis all those years ago - it was like the greatest thing ever back then because the finishing moves opened up so many doors in video games. In short, at the time, Mortal Kombat had to be one of my favorite video games.
Then in 1995 the film from Paul WS Anderson came out with Christopher Lambert as Rayden and Robin Shou as Liu Kang. I'm not exactly sure how people feel about that film but I love it and I still love it today. The sequel... ehh, not so much.
Apparently, the actor who played Scorpion in the first two films, Chris Casamassa, told SGV Tribune that "he's set to start filming the third Mortal Kombat film in September."
Who knows if this is true. Right now this should just be considered as a rumor but if another Mortal Kombat movie is made, I'm totally there. I hope it won't suck like Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun Li but sadly, the chances of that is pretty good. Ironically, Robin Shou was also in Street Fighter. Could an actual good video game movie be made?

Actually one game adaptation is good enough. No need to screw it over and over again. Mortal Kombat Konquest was actually decent.
It is most likely that the writers and the execs would screw it up big time.
