Is there a Blade prequel featuring Deacon Frost on the way??
Out of all Vampire slayers, in all of movies, Blade is the most bad ass and my personal favorite. The opening of the first Blade film, shown above, says all kinds of bad ass to me. I love the first two Blade films and although I don't hate the third film, it lacked a lot and was unequal to the first two. Even so, I still hoped for a fourth movie with Wesley Snipes returning to play the greatest Vampire slayer of all time, however, with his recent legal issues... who knows what will happen.
There is still hope for another film, but apparently, it's pitched as a prequel spin-off featuring the first film villain, Deacon Frost playd by Stephen Dorff.
Scifi Wire says that "Dorff told UK's The Sunday Mail that the new movie would be 'a prequel to the Blade movies, Deacon's Story. It's a new trilogy the director has created'."
The director mentioned is the original director Stephen Norrington and he says that it was Dorff who came up with the project saying it "has evolved into a very interesting story."
Don't get me wrong, Dorff as Frost was cool and I like the villain but he's no Viktor from the Underworld franchise. Granted, comparing the two is ridiculous but the point is I'm not sure I even care if a new trilogy featuring Frost is made, ... seriously, I'd rather watch a NightStalkers movie with Jessica Biel and Ryan Reynolds.
Any thoughts? Are you into a Frost story or would you rather see Snipes as Blade again? Or nothing at all?
