T.J. Hooker heads to the bigscreen!

Before I actually get to the story, let me say that shoulder roll in the opening titles is the greatest shoulder roll of all time. Only Shatner can pull that off, ha! And they don't make TV themes like that anymore. The 80s ruled! TJ Hooker, Knight Rider, Airwolf, Chips.... damn, I miss the 80s.

I'm sure you remember that fantastic 80s television show TJ Hooker, a show that William Shatner worked on longer than Star Trek, the TV series at least, yet isn't as known for. Still, however, I think everyone has heard of TJ Hooker at one point or another.

It's been all over the net the past day or two, "TJ Hooker is headed for the bigscreen as an action comedy with David Foster, Ryan Heppe and series creator Rick Husky producing."

Variety tells us, "Chuck Russell (The Scorpion King, The Mask) is in talks to direct. The writing team of Brent Maddock and SS Wilson will script the story, which focuses on the relationship between the title character and his father."

There isn't any word on casting but I hope, of course, that there is a part for William Shatner. Maybe TJ Hooker Sr.

I remember watching this when I was a kid - I don't remember much, but I do remember that I loved this show. It really paved the way for TV cop shows. I also remember my grandfather loved this show. Ahh, good memories.

I'm sure we'll hear more of this in the future. Whatever happens, a hood slide is a must!
