Ivan Reitman may return to direct Ghostbusters 3

Everyone knows, by now at least, that Ghostbusters 3 is very much in development and most people, including myself, are very excited to see what will come from the script being written by Lee Eisenberg and Gene Stupnitksy.

Not to long ago it was said that Ivan Reitman may not come back to direct the sequel because he's very busy doing other things. It was also suggested that star Harold Ramis may take on the directors seat. While talking to MTV, Reitman said that he still may direct it.

"I've never ruled [directing it] out," Reitman said. "I certainly was responsible in every capacity for the first two movies so I certainly wouldn't wander away from the one-especially if it's something we all think is worth doing."

In the interview, Reitman confirms that there is going to be "a female recruit or two this time" which was suggested by Dan Aykrod when he mentioned bringing on Alyssa Milano and Eliza Dushku. If Milano joins the cast, although I don't know if she's been offered the part yet, she'd probably play the same character from the new video game - Dr. Ilyssa Selwyn. Also, Dushku wouldn't be "competing for the same role," says Slashfilm.com.

Currently, the script is still being worked on but Reitman says that the script will be turned in a month or so. "All the casting speculation is really just speculation," he says.

Without a doubt, having Reitman back to direct the third film would be absolutely awesome. Also, I love Eliza Dushku especially now with her series Dollhouse, that if she came aboard as a Ghostbuster, I'd totally support it. Same goes for Milano. Hopefully things will continue to come together.
