Brian Blessed is Odin in Marvel’s THOR!
Marvel's new film, directed by Kenneth Branagh, Thor is now officially AWESOME!
"I understand that British actor Brian Blessed has been cast in Kenneth Branagh's THOR movie, based on the Marvel Comics title, as the character Odin," says a website called BleedingCool.com. Most of us genre fans will remember the great Brian Blessed in Flash Gordon as Vultan, Prince of the Hawkmen. I'm not exactly sure if this is true or not, but I really hope it is. Blessed would be incredible as Odin!
According to the site, Blessed has already worked along side Branagh in such films as Hamlet and As You Like It.
With luck, Thor will be able to shape up like Iron Man did and surprise all of us when it hits theaters. So far, casting has Chris Hemsworth, recently seen in Star Trek, as the title character Thor with Tom Hiddleston as the villain Loki. The powerful voice and charisma of Brian Blessed can only add to the coolness that Thor can be.
This news is really exciting.
