TV week in Review: Quick Thoughts
Quick thoughts on Heroes, Fringe and Lost. Beware of spoilers.
No new episode of Dollhouse.

Heroes - 1961
Before seeing this episode, I read in some places that 1961 was probably going to be the best episode of this season, the Company Man of this year and now after watching it, it is the best episode. It's also not only the best episode of the third season but the best episode since year one because of its character storytelling. Those of us who watch Heroes can possibly all agree that the last 3 or 4 episodes have seen a major improvement in storytelling - I just hope it's not a fluke.
1961 basically tells the origin story of "The Company" and how it was conceived, it also told much needed back story for one of the more mysterious characters in the series, Angela Petrelli. We learn that she had a sister, Alice, who Angela left behind because of certain circumstances, believing Alice was dead, however, Alice is indeed alive and alone. During the flashback scenes both of the young actresses who played Angela and Alice were totally fantastic! I was really impressed and engrossed with their performances - the same goes for the rest of the 1961 cast including the actor who played Mohinder's father who was at this facility for those with abilities. That also gave us some back story on what Mohinder's father was doing a long time ago which gives us back story on Mohinder himself aswell - not directly however.
The episode also has a lot of little character moments between some of the main cast, moments that are always great to see for a fan who likes character development. I like how the Petrelli family is trying to unite and hopefully, from this episode on, will lead to something big.
Finally, I love the ending - Shapeshifter Sylar is now taking on the persona of Nathan and is making speeches to the press. That leads to tonight's episode. Lets look at the preview.

Fringe - Unleashed
Once again, we were given another crazy ass episode of Fringe in an episode were we see a huge creature cross bread from several different animals attacking people and using humans as incubators for its young. It's gross.
Let me say this for Fringe - it's the hardest show to give my quick thoughts on because it's so ridiculous, but that's what keeps me coming back for more every week.
I'm liking the situation Olivia is going through with her sister and Peter. Is Peter putting game on her sister and is Olivia getting jealous?? Maybe. Two things come to mind - one, she's kind of jealous because Olivia may be a little lonely since John's death. Two, they're sisters and she's being protective because she knows Peter has been through some shit and doesn't want her sister mixed up with that. That said, maybe both.
As usual, I enjoyed watching Walter act like a crazy man but I think we're starting to see that he isn't as crazy as he leads on sometimes. I can't place it but although Walter may not seem all there, a part of me thinks he knows more that what appears. Maybe that's a given for some, ... I don't know.
I'm glad we got to see a little more of Charlie's personal life since he's a character that I like.
All I can say is that I'm pumped to see Leonard Nimoy when the season finale airs. That's going to be the greatest thing this year.

LOST - Some Like It Hoth
I'm going to be quick on this one.
Nothing happened in this episode that seemed like it advanced the story although we're hinted at a couple of things. I love the back story for Miles but other than that, there wasn't anything else to chew on. Sure, it's funny that Hurley is writing Star Wars: Empire Strikes Back but that's about it. This seemed like a simple filler episode to me but a good filler.
Until the next episode which isn't this Wednesday. A special is airing this week.
