Keira Knightley to star in a scifi thriller called Never Let Me Go

I know it's hard for people to believe that Keira Knightley is a good actress but most people haven't seen her outside of Pirates of the Caribbean where I have in films like Atonement and The Duchess.  Granted The Duchess isn't a fantastic film  but Knightley's performances in each film are indeed very good.  I also think she's a awesome looking woman, although some disagree but whatever.

I think for the first time Knightley will star in a science fiction film and no Star Wars doesn't count because she played a really minor role and Pirates isn't science fiction.

"Mark Romanek will direct the cloning-themed pic which will also star Andrew Garfield and Carey Mulligan," says Variety.  "Story revolves around a trio who grew up in a boarding school with no contact or knowledge of the outside world until they discover they are clones grown for the sole purpose of organ donation."

That sounds like Michael Bay's The Island, but apparently its not at all.  Than again I haven't read the book which this film is based from.  Science fiction combined with actresses I really admire always works for me, so I'll be keeping an eye out for it.  I just hope it isn't garbage.

Variety says Never Let Me Go starts filming in April in London and Norfolk, England.

To read about the book, head over to Wikipedia.org.  It sounds really interesting.
