Ghostbusters 3 might shoot in the fall!
A couple of months ago we heard that Lee Eisenberg and Gene Stupnitski (Office writers), were penning a script for Ghostbusters 3, however, that was the last thing we heard.
Thanks to AICN, while having an online chat with fans promoting House of Blues, a club in Boston, Dan Aykroyd fielded some Ghostbusters questions. Here's what he said about Ghostbusters 3:
[Comment From Tom] Dan, I'm extremely excited for the HOB to be back in its birth-city!! I will be attending many shows. On a side note, and I'm sure you get these questions a lot, so I apologize in advance…Ghostbusters 3? I've heard that the writers of the Office are currently penning a script? How is this coming along, and should we look forward to this movie seeing the light of day? Thanks Dan!
Dan Aykroyd: Script is commenced early summer. Hope to be in production by late fall 2009
"Hoped" means that it's not greenlite yet, but if everything goes well with the script and the studio likes it, a new Ghostbusters film will be on the way and I think that's the greatest thing. I've said hundreds of times how much I love these movies and the cartoon, The Real Ghostbusters, was awesome.
Other than that, I don't have any other comment. If it gets greenlit, I'll be thrilled.
