Terminator: TSCC & Dollhouse Friday performance numbers

Ugh....

After Friday's premiere I made a very fast post that the mid season premiere of Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles was a ratings disaster, but I wanted to wait a couple of days until the final numbers came out before I commented on it.  Sadly, the mid season premiere is still a disaster for the series after seeing the numbers.  Dollhouse on the other hand did alright for its premiere episode, but more than likely the numbers will start to drop off as it usually does after a series premiere.  Both shows, however, performed well will men according to FOX but will it be enough? Probably not.

From TV By The Numbers:

Dollhouse

At 9p, the series premiere of DOLLHOUSE increased to a 2.0/6 among Adults 18-49, ranking No. 2 in its time period among Adults 18-49 and Adults 18-34 and No. 1 among Male demos. DOLLHOUSE built upon its 8p lead-in by +54% among Adults 18-49 (2.0/6 vs. 1.3/5), by +55% among Adults 18-34 (1.7/6 vs. 1.1/4) and by +27% among Total Viewers (4.7 vs. 3.7 Mil.) while delivering FOX’s highest rated Friday series premiere in over four years (since 1/14/05, Jonny Zero) among Adults 18-49 and Adults 18-34.

The series debut of DOLLHOUSE also out-delivered FOX’s prior season average in the Friday 9p hour by +25% among Adults 18-49 (2.0/6 vs. 1.6/5) and by +21% among Adults 18-34 (1.7/6 vs. 1.4/5). Finally, DOLLHOUSE was the highest rated Friday FOX entertainment telecast of the broadcast season among Adults 18-49.

Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles

The Friday time period premiere of TERMINATOR: THE SARAH CONNOR CHRONICLES opened the night with a 1.3/5 at 8p, ranking No. 3 in its hour among Adults 18-49 and Adults 18-34 and No. 1 among Men 18-49/18-34.

I can't express how disappointed I am - really. I even fell off the wagon of my diet and ordered Pizza! WTF! I'm ok now if your concerned. I just had a delicious salad. Anyhow, this is really bad news for TSCC and not a great start for Dollhouse which were both exceptionally enjoyable to watch. I was really hopeful for the Friday night timeslot because I hoped that both shows would feed off of each other, but that obviously didn't happen.

Fans warned FOX however... "Friday deathslot!", "Put them on Wednesday night!" - Looks like the fans were correct yet again and the folks at FOX were wrong... what the f-k is new.

Now I fear TSCC is going to get cancelled and Dollhouse won't make it past its 13 episodes. I also really doubt that fan campaigns are going to remedy that but I'll post some links when I find some.

Between stupid networks, bad advertising, reality shows, an out of date ratings system, people having social lives on Fridays, ... what will science fiction programming do. Go to the SciFi channel? Umm no... that means they'd have to get rid of wrestling and stop making horrible SciFi Saturday unscary horror movies.

I can see the stupid and uncreative headlines now - "Terminator has be terminated" hardy har har... assholes.

... pissed... .. off...

Don’t blame you, I wasn’t too happy either.

I’ll throw you an e-mail about how I feel about this so it’s not public.

On the bright side, they clearly see Summer Glau as a highly marketable commodity so we can expect to see her prominently featured in subsequent shows of some sort.
