Underworld the TV series?

Do you think this can work?

It's unknown if the Underworld franchise will continue after Rise of the Lycans especially since it was originally thought of as just a trilogy but while on the red carpet for Sony Screen Gems, Bloody Disgusting spoke with Len Wiseman, creator and the director of the first two films.  He revealed that they may be a television series in the works to further the franchise.

"There's a lot of talk about a television series, I'm looking into that," Wiseman said.  "If I could be very involved and can be a certain way, I'd be very interested in that.  We had always hoped to do a trilogy, now that we completed that trilogy it's kind of open, if people can join us and go back in time - and then leap forward, I'd like to go jump all across the time line."

Does anyone really need to ask if I'd like to have an Underworld TV series?  Honestly, it would be better than watching shows like True Blood which isn't that great of a show in my opinion.  If it was a series about the Death Dealers, I'd totally watch it.  But would it be worth doing without Kate Beckinsale and Bill Nighy?

Yeah really, I hate to break it to Len, but half the reason people came to that movie was his wife in PVC. Even he knew it, because in the Underworld commentary he said that he immediately told his wife that her big entrance (with the close-up of her ass) was going in the trailer, and he sortof apologized to her.

Though if the show takes place after Underworld Evo, then Nighy’s character is dead, so we won’t feel that loss quite as intently.

Either way I stamp this with a huge “NOT GONNA HAPPEN” stamp. In a world where the economy is in a slump and friggin StarGate Atlantis, a GOOD performing show, can no longer afford to shoot in Vancouver because of rising costs, an Underworld movie is Never. Gonna. Happen. Not unless they get a producer with serious moolah.

Yes i could work, however like Blade it might fined it hard. Blade only made 1 series, and think Underworld will only do the same.
I was very disappointed that Blade was canned, as it was canned before it was even shown here in the UK. I really wish these studios would consider worldwide audiences. Still this is never going to happen.
I can only hope that if Underworld ever gets a T.V, show it is on the right channel in the states to give it a decent run.

The selling point of the movies is hot babes and killer action, which would get really expensive. I can see them trying to make the show in the style of Highlander, which wouldn’t work.

If it did somehow get made into a tv show I would give it a try.

I think blade would have made it longer if it actually got picked up by a decent station.
