McG says the Terminator theme will be used in T4 despite Danny Elfman’s comments

Thank god!!!  This is great news and it lifts the weight off of my shoulders.  A couple of days ago a report came out that Danny Elfman would be scoring Terminator Salvation and although that's good news considering he's a good composer, he said that he wasn't sure if he was going to use the Terminator theme.  “I think if it comes up and it seems appropriate, we will [use it],” he said.  “And if it doesn’t, we [won't]."  You can read the full post HERE.

That comment really pissed me off, I'm not going to lie - I was really annoyed and aggravated.  There shouldn't even be a question on using the theme or not.  That's like George Lucas saying he's not sure if he wants to use the Star Wars theme for Star Wars, or Steven Spielberg saying he's not sure if he wants to use the Indiana Jones theme in an Indiana Jones film... It's retarded.  Thankfully while doing his press tour director McG cleared it up and told reporters, "We use a great deal of Brad Fidel's original theme. See, I love it."

He probably told Elfman he's crazy...  If I was directing T4 and the composer I hired told me "I'm not sure if I wanna use the original theme," I'd either fire him, punch him in the throat, or tell him that's the stupidest thing I've ever heard and he better get to work on the theme.

Overall I'm sure Elfman will make a great score but I'm really pleased McG said the original them will be used.
