The Lost City of Z to be helmed by James Grey

A real life Indiana Jones?

A long time ago, at the beginning of the year I believe, a story came out that Brad Pitt would be producing and probably starring in The Lost City of Z following the story of a British soldier and explorer Percy Fawcett into the Amazon.  Based on a true story, Percy Fawcett believe that in the Amazon he would find a lost city called Z, however, after he left for the Amazon he was never heard from again.

James Gray (We Own the Night) has signed on to direct this film according to Variety.  "This is a terrific opportunity to do something entirely different for me," Grey says.  "It is a story that will be told with an epic scale, with a main character who is larger than life."

The book for which this film is based is going to be released this April and I might buy it.  I'm not a big book reader but when it is said that this real life man was the inspiration for Indiana Jones.... I'm going to buy it.
