Michael Giacchino will conduct the Academy Awards

This years Oscars has a new conductor.  Michael Giacchino has been hired by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences to compose the Academy Awards this year.

Giacchino's work includeds Ratatouille, Speed Racer, Mission Impossible III, The Incredibles and Lost.  He's also composing the score for Star Trek, my most anticipated film of 2009.

So this is great news.  That's it.  Watch the Oscars February 22nd.
