Smallville team writes Robotech
This news just blows my mind.
Everyone should know by now that Tobey Maguire is producing a Robotech live action adaptation. A while a go, Lawrence Kasdan wrote a draft of the film, which is a fantastic thing. He's behind such great films like Empire Strikes Back and Raiders of the Lost Ark.
THR is now reporting that Alfred Gough and Miles Millar have been hired by Warner Bros. to pen Robotech, which makes no sense. I don't know if it's a rewrite or another draft but this is what THR says. These are the guys behind The Mummy 3 and Smallville. THR says about the two, "Gough and Millar bring action and geek cred to the table." That's so stupid when comparing them against the Raiders and Empire scribe.
