John Boorman’s CGI Wizard of Oz concept photos
Did you know another Wizard of Oz film was coming out? The last version of the Wizard of Oz that I saw was the SciFi Channel miniseries Tin Man, which wasn't all that bad. This however seems to be a little more traditional. The interesting thing about this CGI adaptation is that it's being directed by John Boorman who directed one of my all time favorite films, Excalibur. Last week Variety announced this news saying, "the English-language adaptation maintains the tale's main characters and settings. Unlike the MGM classic, however, it's not a musical."
Ain't It Cool News has scored a couple of concept photos from the film. I don't know why but they remind me a little bit of The Legend of Zelda... it's weird. That said, they definitely look well done and I'm looking forward to seeing the final project. Take a look at the pics and visit AICN for more details.
