Fanboys pushed back to 2009

Those of you who've been keeping track, The Weinstein Co. has been just completely botching everything when it comes to Fanboys.  It's been like this for a couple of years now, with different cuts and edits plus the simple fact that Weinstein just won't release the damn film.  The buzz for it has been really good but it's getting to the point where people just don't care anymore.  The buzz is going bye bye and Weinstein seems to continue to make buisness mistakes.

Originally, Fanboys was going to premiere at the end of November but thanks to Slashfilm, we now hear it has been pushed back to February 6th 2009.  Fanboys isn't alone in that move because a couple of Weinstein films have also been puched back.  Harvey Weinstein tells the LA Times that the moves were made because 2009 "offers a better opportunity to be seen."  That may be so... I'm not sure what the schedule is for the beginning to the year but there is little to no buzz on this film.

All that said, I'm still looking forword to seeing it because the word is that it's good and the chance to see Kristen Bell dressed as Leia can't be missed, as you can see above.

Plot Synopsis: Set in 1998, the story tells of a group of friends who, anxious for the premiere of Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace, decide to break into Skywalker Ranch and steal an early print of the film. The reason: one of them is suffering from cancer and wishes to see the film before his death. A road trip begins as the friends encounter William Shatner, obsessed Trekkies, and bikers who make them undress for water - Wikipedia.
