Quick thoughts on Heroes, Fringe, Knight Rider, Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Stargate Atlantis, Sanctuary and True Blood.
No new episode of Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles.
Heroes - Angels and Monsters
The craziness ensues in this weeks episode of Heroes. A lot of things happen in the episode and I'm not going to give a synopsis because it's just too much. Hmmm, where to start?
Hiro is an asshole for starters. I can't believe he ran Ando through with a sword. We don't know if he's dead or alive at this point but at least now we know why Ando eventually kills Hiro. He deserves it. I like Hiro's line when they went into the bar as he made a Star Wars reference; The Cantina. It's obvious Hiro is becoming "villain" but I think it's safe to say that he's simply misguided.
The Claire and Noah story could be interesting. The guy she tried to take out, Stephen, was an ok character with a cool power. I like how Sylar is trying to bond with Claire... and he saved her life too. Everything that we've been seeing so far this season kind of makes me think back to the first few episodes of the series. Noah or at the time HRG was introduced as "the bad guy" if you will. It's kind of clear now that he is actually a good guy and he's trying to protect everyone from the people with dangerous ability's. But what about Sylar. He is trying after all to become a better person. He even saved Angela from Peter. Peter wasn't in that episode all that much but he's obviously confused.
Here in this episode we see for the first time pappa Petrelli. He seems to be putting together a team of villain for an unknown purpose. We'll see more of him in the next episode.
All in all, it wasn't a bad episode. I'm still in the opinion that Heroes has too many characters and too many story lines to follow. All of the reveals don't seem to be that big and when they happen, like Parkman's dad being the voice of Linderman, makes me shrug my shoulders and say whatever. The writers and producers need to pick up the excitement and the pace because, honestly, although they episodes have been alright they haven't wow'd me this season.
That's all I have to say about Heroes this week. Here is the preview for tonights episode.
Fringe - Power Hungry
Ok, so I'll try and explain this episode. There is a man and his body is charged with electricity. He can't control it and kills people accidentally. He gets captured by a mad scientist and only birds can find him. Olivia is host to the memory's of John... and she thinks she's crazy but she's really not because she finds John's stash of files. Plus there is an engagement ring... *tear*. So I hope that explains it.... haha. Whatever.
Right of the bat. Did anyone notice who we saw when Joseph Meegar went into the elevator before everyone in it died? You just saw him for a micro second. That's right, it was the Observer. He walks out of the elevator, looks at Joseph then puts his hat on and walks away. He had nothing to do with the episode. It was just cool.
Walter tells Olivia the deal about seeing John. I new it had something to do with the tank they put her in during the pilot. See that... I'm a genius. Seriously though; having all of his, or most of his, memory's and experiences will be a huge advantage for Olivia with her investigation in to The Pattern. The FBI has all of his files but she has the memory's of it in her head. It's just a matter of learning to tap into that. Since the back end of the season has been picked up by FOX, maybe we'll see more of that. On another note, you have to kind of feel bad for Olivia. She finds a ring, which I only assume was meant as an engagement ring, I thought she was going to cry but she's got nerves of steel.
There isn't much more than that. It was another entertaining episode and like usual, I'm looking forward to the next.
Knight Rider - A Hard Day's Knight
More Knight Rider puns.... weee.
In this weeks episode, Mike gets poisoned and has to find a cure. I'll be honest... again. I think Knight Rider is growing on me. It's not a great show but I suppose for what it is... I'll put it this way, I'm not regretting watching the episodes anymore. They're brainless fun. Sure, they lack the charm of the 80s series but at the same time, it has enough cheesiness to keep me entertained for 42 minutes.
A Hard Day's Knight is actually a fast paced episode. After Mike is injected with the poison he has to keep moving to complete a mission, find the true villain and get the antidote before it's too late. It's actually not a bad episode and it's fun. It's still an awful television show and there's not real character development; who needs character development these days anyways.
I don't want to waste more time on Knight Rider, so that's all I got. Oh, KITT is a Transformer for convenience and Deanna Russo has really hot eyes. She's hot in general.
Star Wars: The Clone Wars - Destroy Malevolence
This is the final part of the Malevolence episodes and the best of the three. The thing that I love about this show is that it's just action packed. From beginning to end it was all blasters and lightsabers.
This week Senator Amidala was tricked into being caught during the Malevolence battle. When she arrived at the fight, General Grevious tried to take her prisoner but the General doesn't know the Senator. While on the Malevolence, she of course gets rescued by her lover Anakin Skywalker. Both Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi rescue the Senator and escape but thanks to Skywalker he sabotages the Malevolence to it's destruction.
The visual aspect of the battle is just fantastic. I love how the CG looks. Watching the Malevolence burn in space while Star Destroyers are blasting away at it is pretty awesome. Once again The Clone Wars brings us another fun filled episode of Jedi action, but from the preview for next week, we might be in for some Clone battle action. I'm excited for that.
On a side note. I want to see some Mace Windu episodes.
Stargate Atlantis - Outsiders
I should mention that last week during the Atlantis section of Week in Review, I screwed up the title. Last weeks episode was called The Lost Tribe but I accidentally titled is Outsiders which is this weeks episode.
This week the Atlantis team has to protect a group of people who have the virus that kills Wraith upon feeding. The Wraith want to destroy those people since they are basically weapons against them. However if the Wraith don't find the people they're looking for an innocent town will be destroyed. This is just another great episode to add to the best season of Stargate, not just in Atlantis but also SG-1.
Exciting! I found this episode to be an exciting one. With action on the planet, then on a Wraith hive. All of which moved at a fast pace. This show really has gotten a nack for fully using 42 minutes. To bad Atlantis is cancelled but the quality of this season gives me a lot of hope it will carry over into a DVD movie.
The thing that annoyed me with Outsiders is the cliche jackass that tries to ruin everything the team is trying to do. They've done that too many times in this franchise that it is getting kind of old. But! They redeemed that when they blew that guy up into bird food.
I think the best thing this episode had to offer was with Rodney and Carson on the Wraith hive. Watching them work together is hysterical because they're both simply not the heroic type.
There is just about 8 episodes left in the series so enjoy it as much as possible.
Sanctuary - Folding Man
Folding Man is basically the first new episode Sanctuary has to offer. The series premiere and last weeks episode were a retelling from the webseries. So this episode is a story never seen until Friday. What an enjoyable episode too. I hope viewers are beginning to get comfortable with Sanctuary because I really like the series. And oh man... Emilie Ullerup was killing me with that really tight blue shirt she was wearing at the beginning of the episode. Here's a screencap.
This week Magnus and her team try to stop a Folding Man from creating a small army of drug addicted Folding Men. Lol, that's the best synopsis I can offer. Well in short, it's a good episode. I think in the end I was just as fooled as Dr. Zimmerman. Part of me thought that Nomad was the guy in the cell. Another part of me was convinced at his story that Nomad was someone else... so in the end I was fooled. Maybe it was just me.... Sanctuary is on late after all and I was tired from work... (excuses).
I liked how this episode presented itself as more of an investigation episode instead of your bag'em and tag'em episodes although those are always welcome.
I look forward to the next episode.
Last Weeks True Blood episode - Cold Ground
Last week I didn't get to see True Blood until towards the middle of the week. I got kind of hung up last week but I promised to do a double True Blood ep quick review.
I actually wished I didn't see the episode at all. I was bored to tears with this episode. Since Sookies grandmother was murdered, we spent the episode watching Sookie go through her emotions. That's important and all but it was really really really... boring.
I don't understand why at the end of the episode she went to get screwed by Bill. I don't know about you guys but if someone close to me was brutally murdered... the last thing on my mind would be getting laid. Maybe it was just some sort of defense to keep her from bringing out more sad and depressed emotions. I don't know. I just wasn't convinced. And what's the deal with her telling Bill to bite her.
Again, bored to tears... Maybe the next episode Burning House of Love will be better.
True Blood -Burning House of Love
The last time I saw Lizzy Caplan, she exploded.... Check out Cloverfield. We see her again in this new episode of True Blood as some kind of Vampire Blood hippy.
i just finished watching True Blood and I honestly don't want to waste much time talking about it. The story line with Tara, her mother and the whole demon thing is lame. On top of that most of the drama is really boring. The episodes are proving to be just 'ok' at best. Other than that, True Blood is really boring.
The best thing to come out of this episode is seeing Anna Paquin and Lizzy Caplan naked. Really. Caplan has a serious rack.. it's beautiful. Other than that.... ZZZzzzzzzzzz............
Here are some screen caps of Lizzy, (not safe for work) click; HERE, HERE, HERE & HERE. Nice right!?!?!
Atlantis was rife with cliche’s and I hated watching it. I have not caught up with Sanctuary yet - all I can say is the 2 hour premiere was a YAWN. Oh my god I could not have been more bored by the premiere. I’m hoping it accelerates.
Knight Rider was pretty cool, Clone Wars ROCKED. Thanks for sharing, Phil.
