The first Quantum of Solace reviews are in!

I'm repeating myself but when it comes to James Bond, I've never been a fan. It's not that I don't like James Bond or I think the films aren't good. It was just never my thing. Then Casino Royale came out and I was blown away. Casino Royale is a fantastic movie and with Quantum of Solace just a couple of weeks away, my excitement level rises.
Our friends across the pond have the first reviews for the next Bond flick, and to my surprise they're just alright and not great like I thought it was going to be. Overall the UK trades are basically saying that Quantum of Solace is a fine film that's more grim but Casino Royale is better.
BBC says: "This is a Bond adventure that's badder, better but not bigger. "
The Guardiansays: "I was disappointed there was so little dialogue, flirtation and characterisation in this Bond: Forster and his writers Paul Haggis, Neal Purvis and Robert Wade clearly thought this sort of sissy nonsense has to be cut out in favour of explosions. Well, perhaps that is what Bond fans want (not this Bond fan, though). But I was also baffled that relatively little was made of the deliciously villainous Amalric: especially the final encounter."
This doesn't worry me because I'll probably love Quantum of Solace. It's jut going to be a matter of which movie I think is better. Knowing me, it will probably take a few days before my opinion settles in, so I'll probably wait to write a review for a couple of days.
All that said, I'm still pumped to see the next Bond film and I can't wait to hear the Bond theme again. The end of Casino Royale is a moment that I put in the awesome macho section of movie making. Hopefully Quantum of Solace will have something like that too.
