Halloweens Scores & Soundtracks: Creepshow

" I took care of it. That's why God made fathers, babe. That's why God made fathers."

Creepshow (Prologue/Welcome To Creepshow The Main Theme) By: John Harrison

This song has always made me feel kind of uncomfortable and that's why the theme from Creepshow is an all time great.  John Harrison did such an evil sounding job with it, almost putting all of our childhood fears into sounds and music.  It's a playground song for the demented child in all of us.

The movie brings 1950s EC horror comics to the big screen in the form of Stephen King stories handled by George Romero.  The movie contains five stories with a wraparound story at the start and end of the film.  Each tale is not perfect but the film moves quick and is a fun watch.  For the most part the acting comes off good with a cast that contains Hal Holbrook, an unknown Ted Danson   and E.G. Marshall.  Yet it’s Adrienne Barbeau who steals the show playing a very drunk annoying cunt while being apart of the film's best story, "The Crate".  But my favorite part is the wrap around story featuring the kid Billy, The Creep and Tom Atkins as the hard-ass father.  Tom Savini's special effects are top notch once again.
