Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles - Goodbye to All That
We started off the week with Goodbye to All That. It's probably the best start to a TV week I've ever had honestly. This episode of TSCC is my favorite episode of the season so far and my favorite episode of the series so far. This episode was huge and it's because Brian Austin Green totally stole the show from the rest of the cast. In this episode, Derek and John go undercover at a military academy to protect a future member of the Resistance, Martin Bedell. During the episode we see John and Bedell start a friendship that will last throughout the war and we see Derek remembering a war where he and Bedell work to rescue prisoners from the machines.
This is an amazing episode for both the John and Derek characters, more so Derek honestly. It's funny how if you tell someone about Brian Austin Green and how his character on Terminator is one of the best characters on TV, they'll laugh and say "the guy from 90210?". They don't understand, until they see the show, that this isn't David Silver. This is Lt. Derek Reese. Green seriously pulls this role off like he was born to play this role. If I rated all of his scenes for Goodbye to All That, they'd all be 10 out of 10s because he's that damn good. Between his performance during the future war, how scarred he was; to his reaction when he saw a young Bedell; to his "fun" war story he told the cadets; to his performance when fighting the Terminator; to his last couple of lines telling John about Bedells' death and how they'd all die for John. Holy shit, I almost got a little misty eyed when I saw that scene. He was brilliant and it shows that within all the rough and toughness of the character, it all really does matter to him, now more than ever since he knows John is his nephew. All of it was amazing.
One of the coolest scenes, out of a buffet of cool scenes, is when John stood up to protect Bedell and told the Terminator who he was. To me, that shows me that he's really stepping up to being a man, the man really, and he's willing to risk his life for his troops or in this case, his future troops. That says a lot about his character.
What was the B story of the episode is Sarah and Cameron protecting a young boy who has the same name, Martin Bedell. After being targeted by the Terminator he was brought back to the house for protection. There's not a a lot I want to go into on that but the chemistry between the boy and Sarah was fantastic. We got to see the softer side of Sarah and I loved it. In the episode before that we saw her softer side with the pregnant girl, but as I wrote I didn't like any of that. I'm glad that this was a big turn around because it was some great stuff. Cameron lifting the boy up by his shirt.... Brilliant!
Again, this is my favorite episode of the season and it's because of Brian Austin Green. Maybe TSCC fans don't realize, but this show is raising the bar for Terminator Salvation and those of you who read this blog regularly know that I think T4 is going to be a big let down. Honestly, I wish Josh Friedman was the exec producer and writer on T4. I wish Brian Austin Green was in it standing along side Christian Bale. It would be epic.
Remember there's no episode on for tonight so come back for next week. Until then, here's an upcoming preview. Here comes Stephanie Jacobson!

Heroes - I Am Become Death
The episodes of Heroes is beginning to pick up in quality a little. I don't think there is any doubt of that but there is still a boat load of problems. This week a majority of the episode took place in the future with Peter trying to find out why all of what has been happening, has happened. There isn't a lot I want to talk about in this episode except for some stuff about Peter in the future.
The Peter that we know is growing for sure especially now that he has Sylar's ability. He has the hunger and it could be very interesting to see what that does for his character. We also saw that towards the future, Sylar is able to control his power and start to live a normal life. He even has a son who has an unfortunate end. Claire is seriously sexy in leather by the way. Now that Peter knows that Sylar is his brother it could start a very interesting future but who knows if the writers will capitalize on that. Between both actors, who are excellent, it could turn out epic. From the looks of it, both characters are reversing roles. Peter the villain, Sylar the hero.
Overall, I enjoyed the episode and I thought it's an improvement from recent episodes but there is still way too much going on in this series. Heroes has way too many characters and way too many stories to tell and this will be the down fall of the show. It's obvious from ratings that people are beginning to stop watch. I realize that could mean anything but from what Heroes has been doing, I'm forced to think that people are getting annoyed with how the series is playing out.
The bottom line for me; Peter, Sylar, Claire, Noah, Hiro, Ando, Parkman and Nathan should be the only characters on the show. I'll even let Tracy/Nikki stay because there could be an interesting future with her. The other 30 season regulars need to go. With those characters, we can start seeing tight stories again which would probably make the series a lot more comprehensible. I feel like Heroes is going to be stuck in neutral (quality wise) if they continue to add, add, add more characters and arcs.
Other than a few comments and a rant, that's really all I have to say. Also, it's getting more difficult to watch Zachary Quinto. I keep thinking, Spock. I'm soo pumped for Star Trek. Anyhow, here's the preview for tonight's episode which will add another new character but this is probably an important character.

Knight Rider - Knight of the Iguana
I want to start off with two things. First, the Knight puns in the titles... It's so stupid it's funny. Second, the title music is so awful that I have to go on youtube and watch the theme from the original series just to wash the bad taste out of my mouth.
I can't believe I'm going to say this but I think there's a guilty pleasure being built with me. What? Why? you say, because Knight Rider is so awful I have to keep watching. Seriously, this show is terrible but it's painfully watchable in a way. I should mention that Zoe played by Smith Cho has a wicked body but on to the more important stuff.
In this episode we see Mike, Zoe and of course KITT track down some guy in some surfer resort... who cares. The episode is stupid. It has no depth, drama, hardly any character development. Knight of the Iguana only had beach eye candy and some cheesy action. I guess when it comes down to it, it's better than watching reality TV. Right? Oh, and Paul Campbell is funny.
That's all I got for Knight Rider.

Star Wars: The Clone Wars - Shadow of Malevolence
Shadow of Malevolence is the second part of three in the Malevolence story. Last week we saw the Separatist super weapon destroy a Republic fleet and nearly Jedi Plo Koon with it. This week was about destroying the super weapon and who's the Jedi that can do it? You guessed it, Anakin Skywalker.
With half hour episodes it doesn't leave much room for discussion but at the same time, not much should be said. The Clone Wars is about good old fashion Clone Wars fun and that's what it is. In this episode we follow Anakin, Ahsoka and Plo Koon with a clone trooper fighter wing through a dangerous nebula to destroy the Malevolence before it reaches a medical space station near Naboo.
Again I should mention like I did last week that people are still complaining about this series and it's ridiculous. Clone Wars is a good show; it's a kids after school cartoon and it makes me wish I was a kid again; Sort of, but the point is this was just another fun episode. I still hate the nicknames that Ahsoka uses but just like everything else so far, the action makes up for it. The thing that I've really enjoyed with this show is the interaction of the clones which we didn't see a lot of in the films. It kind of makes you feel bad that they'll eventually become the enemy and kill all the Jedi's. The thing that I wish was done with this series is if they ran it two episodes in a row for an hour show. I'm not saying make each episode an hour long just have two different half hour episodes run back to back. That's just my opinion though.
Next week we'll see Padme get herself into some trouble.. and guess who's the Jedi that can save her? You guessed it, Anakin Skywalker.

Stargate Atlantis - Outsiders
It's the start of the second half of the final season of Atlantis (which is such B.S.) and it of course is another great episode to add to the best season of the series. Outsiders is the second part of a two-parter which sees the return of Daniel Jackson. The Wraith have control of the Daedalus and have set a collision course with the outpost that holds Jackson and McKay. Only John Shepard and a traveler ship can stop the destruction of the Stargates, save the Daedalus and rescue the galaxy. Dramatic isn't it?
The big reveal of this episode is definitely the return of the Asgard but it's not the Asgard we know. When they killed off the entire Asgard race I thought it was a HUGE and stupid mistake. Why they did it escapes me but thankfully a small faction still remains. Unfortunately, they are probably new enemies. Which is such bullshit because the Asgard rule and they should be our friends. Supreme Commander Thor would be very upset.
I love the chemistry Shanks and Hewlett have with their characters. More so than the last episode, the enjoyment of their scenes are abundant in Outsiders. The scene where McKay finds the empty suits then bugs out because he thought he was going to die is typical but it never gets old for me.
Through this all however, Todd and his Wraith had some major trust issues with the our fine crew. In a way, I guess it was understandable but if they just trusted each other and didn't jump the gun it could have ended better. If they did that however, they'd be no drama.
Ronan got the shaft from Keller. Haha, poor guy. She just ripped his heart out. It's true that Keller is interested in me and couldn't be with him. The question I have is if she's interested in McKay or if it's someone else. They could try and fake us out.
Until next week then...

Sanctuary - Fata Morgana
The second episode of Sanctuary is basically a remake of the second episode of the webseries. Just like SCIFI's pilot episode this episode almost tells the same story from the webseries. The big difference is the 3 girls aren't evil. As I'm writing this I don't know what people are saying about his week but I think it's safe to say it was just about the same as last week. All in all I liked it and I like the series.
There really isn't all that much I can say about the episode basically because the story is a year old, probably more. It had it's changes but for the most part it was the same.
So all I can really add is that I liked it but I'm looking forward to brand spankin new episodes.

I actually haven't had a chance to see the new ep of True Blood yet. I'll try and see it at some point today and I'll update later on. If I don't, I'll do a double post next week.

You’re so right that `Goodbye to All That’ rocked. Fortunately I never watched `90210′ so I can enjoy BAG’s excellent performance as Derek without any issues. Looks like it won’t last much longer, unfortunately.
`Stargate Atlantis’ is highly entertaining, shame it’s ending. Did you notice that the actor who plays the Wraith `Todd’ is also in `Sanctuary’ in heavy prosthetic make-up? Listen for the voice. Talking of that, I haven’t decided on `Sanctuary.’ It’s going to need to raise its game to hold my interest. (And the kick-ass Buffy-clone chicks saving incompetent male sidekicks is really getting old for me.) Amanda Tapping is always watchable tho.
For those few who haven’t watched When Trumpets Fade, which is in the dvd player right now since there is no Summer Glau this week, checked it out. Trumpets opens with a wounded buddy scene that could have made it as a flashback scene.
totally agree the best episode so far john is really getting in to the swing of things now.
so cool
