TV week in review: Quick thoughts

Quick thoughts on Termintor: The Sarah Connor Chronicles, Fringe, Stargate Atlantis and True Blood.  There isn't that much to each TV show, just some quick general thoughts to the episode.
Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles - The Mousetrap

Last Monday premiered the third episode of a really excellent season of Terminator.  The Mousetrap kept the momentum of the first couple of episodes going.  Here in this episode we saw Cromartie take captive Charlie's wife Penny...errr, wrong show.  Charlie enlists the help of Sarah and Derek to find his wife but will it be too late.

I got to say, Derek gets cooler and cooler.  I love seeing him use his resistance skills while looking for the Terminator.  I hope they show more of that during the season. I'm really diggin John's story with Riley.  I like that he had to run away from Cameron so he could go see his girl.  You could see that Cameron gets a little jealous while looking at Riley.  I'm really curious to see how much more jealous she'll get towards the character as the season goes on.  I have a theory... does anyone think that Cameron is Kate Brewster?  That's why she loves John and the Terminators used her likeness to get close to John and kill him.  It's far fetched but it's an idea.  Maybe we'll find out tonight.  The chase scene with Cromartie and John was intense and kudos for John on out smarting the machine.  It's really sad that Charlies wife had to die and I think John might feel responsible for it by just his reaction at the end of the episode when he saw Charlie.  Maybe he'll join the team now.  However, Stephanie Jacobson is going to come along soon as a regular so maybe there isn't room for Charlie.  I'm so excited.

All in all, it's another great episode of Terminator.  I'm so in love with this show and the characters.  I'm pumped for tonight's episode showing the back story of Summer Glau's Cameron.  Watch the preview... it looks great.  Take a look at this:

Fringe - The Ghost Network

Fringe episodes seem to repeat themselves in concept with each episode; problem, John Noble figures it out, problem fixed; but even if it's like that, it's damn entertaining.  I really like this show.  One of the things I like is the combination of a little bit of comedy, intrigue and sometimes excitement; also the creepiness.  The comedy comes from John Noble as Dr. Bishop... he's crazy, in a funny way.  There isn't all that much I could say about Fringe because the episodes are too hard to explain but this week was another interesting episode.  Each episode is very interesting.

All I can say is if you were an X-Files fan, or a SciFi fan, or a fan looking for a show that turns theory into reality Fringe might be your show.  Anna Torv is so cute too... just a thought on her.  Yea, the short review on The Ghost Network is useless to you I'm sure, I just needed to get that stuff out.
Here's the preview for the next episode.

Stargate Atlantis - First Contact

It's the mid season finale for Atlantis but thankfully Atlantis will back in a couple of weeks.  First Contact sees the return of Daniel Jackson to uncover a secret lab in the city of Atlantis but the reveal of that lab notifies a new race that attacks, kidnaps and steals Dr. Jackson, Dr. McKay and an object from the lab.  The object taken causes Wraith ships to explode when they enter hyperspace windows.  The Wraith apparently know about this item and blame our characters for it and take over the Daedalus.

This is the thing, not only this episode but the entire season is probably the best season of Stargate  in general.  Not only Atlantis but SG-1 as well.  It's like the beginning of SG-1 again because all of the story's are just fantastic.  Each episode is very entertaining and has improved over the last season which I found a disappointment and repetitive.
I love seeing Jackson.  I love the genius of the character and we all know Michael Shanks has taken that character to the limits.  I look forward to the next SG-1 movie whenever it's made.  The competition between McKay and Ronin for Dr. Keller is funny.  That scene when Ronin was walking with Keller and smiles at Rodney was amusing.  I actually feel bad for him...  The new villains are pretty awesome.  I like the armor that they wear but I'm curious if they're a species we've met before.  I'm assuming not, but you never know.  Overall, First Contact is just another great episode for the final season of Atlantis.

Next week Amanda Tapping's Sanctuary premieres.  Till then, here's the preview for the next episode of Atlantis.
True Blood - Escape from the Dragon House
I've said over the past couple of weeks that I've been having a hard time getting into True Blood but as the weeks go on it's getting easier.  Sunday night's episode sees Sookie and Bill going to the Vampire bar Fantasia... or something like that.  It had more of the vampire cliches that we've seen in movies.  I was expecting Blade to pop in at any moment.  In this episode we got to see Bill act a littler more like a vampire but at the same time staying "mainstream".  I think the funniest thing was what happened with Jason.  He drank the entire thing of V juice... lol, he had an erection for the entire episode and when he finally got himself... lets say fixed, I think I felt it.  Haha poor guy.
The thing with True Blood is that each episode is starting to lay out the path for a possibly good vampire series.  We're four episodes in and I think I'm going to stick around because the episodes are getting better.  I still need to see more but I think this series is going to overall be a good show.
One of the things I like about the episode is that we're introduced to the oldest vampire so far in the series, Eric.  I can't really speak much on that character but I like what I saw... it actually reminded me of The Lost Boys.  That actually would make for a better series than True Blood... that would never happen though.  Wouldn't be awesome if Edgar Frog showed up in an episode... I'm starting to rant.
I can't say all that much on what I didn't like but at the same time I can't say what I liked overall.  All I can say is that it was a pretty good episode and I think I'll stick around for more.
Here's the preview for the next episode. It looks like we might see a little back story on Bill but I can't tell.

Am I crazy or was Charlie’s wife on Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles the spitting image of Linda Hamilton?
