Brett Ratner and Conan the Barbarian?
This guy seems to be attached to everything these days.
I'm not going to really take notice of this but it's still news worthy. The Rush Hour director, X-Men 3 director, oh.. and the Miley Cyrus music video director is apparantly being considered by NU Image to direct the Conan The Barbarian remake, at least according to DreadCentral.com.
"We got word today that Nu Image is offering the long-awaited new Conan movie to, of all people, Brett Ratner," says Dread Central. "...if Ratner does get it, I think it'll be pretty clear that Nu Image doesn't give a single hell what the fans want to see from a new Conan movie."
I think that last comment basically sums up how every fan of the original Schwarzenegger film will feel if Ratner gets the gig. I wouldn't worry however. This guy says he's attached to do a ton of shit and it never comes to life.
I'd rather see someone like Robert Rodriguez to direct it because I'd like to see it in line with the Red Sonja film he's got on the way... but the truth is nothing will ever be better than Conan The Barbarian.
