Edward Norton and the future of The Incredible Hulk

One of the summer movies I was excited to see was the new take on The Incredible Hulk coming from Marvel Stuidos.  Overall, I think people generally like the film and people thought it was a lot better than Ang Lee's film, which it was.  I myself really liked how The Incredible Hulk turned out.  One of the reasons was the excellent performance of Edward Norton who's really good in just about everything he does.  Norton also rewrote the script.

As everyone who follows movies knows The Avengers team up movie is on the way for a future release.  The problem is, Edward Norton doesn't sound optimistic that Marvel wants him back for The Avengers or a sequel.  During the near release of The Incredible Hulk, it was all over entertainment news that Norton and the studio were at serious odds on the film for various reasons.  Norton also didn't receive any credit for the script which he had a big part in writing.  On top of that, the film wasn't a huge success and the reasons for that are limit-less at this point with a lot of fingers pointing at Ang Lee's film which a lot of people hate.  So with all of that, the future of Norton and The Incredible Hulk are unknown.

"The minds of Marvel are sometimes opaque," Norton tells MTV.  "I won't say [they're] obtuse, but I don't have any idea what they want to do."  That to me sounds like he's still a little angry with Marvel.  "They've got this notion of collecting Marvel characters," which he says about The Avengers.  "Who knows where they'll go?"  MTV says Norton has "been kept in the dark" when it comes to the Hulk.

I'd hate to see Norton get the shaft on this character because I really enjoyed what he did with it.  This film is a total improvement from the past and I personally want to see more.  If it's a sequel or The Avengers, I don't care as long as there is more.  It's obvious Marvel wants the Hulk in The Avengers especially when they had Robert Downey Jr. show up as Tony Stark in the film hinting at "a team".

Only time will tell and I'm sure Marvel will release a statement at some point or another.
